A Reddit user shared a screengrab from one of Suhana Khan's old posts, wherein she was seen raising her voice against anti-colourism, even when her daddy was promoting fairness creams.
Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most handsome actors in Bollywood. Over the years, with his magical charisma on-screen, he has etched a beautiful place in millions of hearts. Thus, besides acting, he also collaborates with many brands from time to time. But once, when his daughter, Suhana Khan, kept her opinion on facing brutal criticism online for having dark skin tones, Shah Rukh was also dragged into further discussion by the netizens for endorsing fairness cream brands.
A Reddit user shared a screengrab of an article which talked about one of Suhana Khan's old posts, wherein she was rooting against anti-colourism. It was in 2020, when Suhana had taken to her IG handle and gave a befitting reply those who called her ugly and 'kaali'. She shared several screenshots from her DM, which featured certain comments on her posts and replies on her stories. Alongside it, she penned a long note talking about the same. Suhana's empowering caption, along with the screenshots, can be read as:
"There's a lot going on right now and this is one of the issues we need to fix! This isn't just about me, it's about every young girl/boy who has grown up feeling inferior for absolutely no reason. Here are just a few of the comments made about my appearance. I've been told I'm ugly because of my skin tone, by full grown men and women, since I was 12 years old."

In the same caption, Suhana Khan further mentioned that she has been called ugly by her own people. Thus, getting to hear such things from one's own people makes one extremely insecure about oneself. She, however, mentioned being happy and content about her own skin tone and expressed:
"Other than the fact that these are actual adults, what's sad is that we are all Indian, which automatically makes us brown - yes we come in different shades but no matter how much you try to distance yourself from the melanin, you just can't. Hating on your own people just means that you are painfully insecure. I'm sorry if social media, Indian matchmaking,or even your own families have convinced you, that if you're not 5'7 and fair you're not beautiful. I hope it helps to know that I'm 5'3 and brown and I am extremely happy about it and you should be too. #endcolourism."
Suhana's post had received much support from her fans and followers. However, a section of the society had mentioned that Suhana has been raising her voice against colourism while on the other hand, her daddy, Shah Rukh Khan has been promoting fairness creams. Now, as the Reddit user shared the screengrab of the old article, netizens once again started reacting to the same.

Earlier, when Shah Rukh Khan attended the Kolkata Film Festival in 2018, in an interview with The Time of India, he was asked to comment on why he endorses fairness products while being of the opinion that he doesn’t judge people based on their looks. To this, he mentioned how the actor has never been dishonest to his followers and would be abusing his family members too, if they ever judge a person based on their superficial qualities. Then, he addressed how, despite Suhana's dusky colour, she is the most beautiful girl in this world for him. He had said:
“I’m a lower middle-class guy with none of these trappings. The only thing that must have worked for me is honesty. But look at me now; because of my stardom, I’m good looking also; I’ve become a poster boy! What joke is that? I used to have posters of Cheryl Ladd and Clint Eastwood in my room. I never thought main Cheryl Ladd ban jaunga ya toh main Clint Eastwood ban jaunga. That aspect was never a part of my life. I’ll be honest; my daughter is sanwli (dusky), but she’s the most beautiful girl in the world. And nobody can tell me otherwise,” he said.
