Shah Rukh Khan has always talked about his little girl, Suhana Khan’s interest in joining the film industry and his 19-year-old is already a star in the making. Suhana is completing her education in London before she makes her Bollywood debut but we have already seen her talent in her short film, The Grey Part of Blue. Also, we were astonished when Shah Rukh had posted a breathtakingly beautiful picture of himself with his ‘not so little anymore’ princess, Suhana when she had played the character of Juliet in her school play. Sharing a collage on his Instagram handle, wherein on one side, he was giving an elated Suhana a peck and on the other side, the poster of the play in which Suhana had played Juliet, King Khan had written, “With my Juliet in London. What a wonderful experience and exceptional performances by the whole cast. At an event a few months back, Shah Rukh Khan was slammed for calling his 19-year-old daughter, Suhana Khan ‘dusky’. While discussing the backlash at the Kolkata Film Festival, Shah Rukh Khan was QUOTED as saying, “I’ll be honest; my daughter is sanwli (dusky), but she’s the most beautiful girl in the world. And nobody can tell me otherwise.” We had capitalise the word ‘quoted’ for a reason, because what Shah Rukh had actually said goes like this, “My daughter is sanwli (dusky), AND she’s the most beautiful girl in the world.” He used the word ‘and’ and not ‘but’.
During her first formal interview with the Vogue, Suhana Khan had talked about her passion for acting and was quoted as saying, “I don’t think there was any one moment when I decided. Since I was young, I’d do all these accents and impressions. But my parents only realised I was serious about acting when they saw a performance of mine for the first time. I was playing Miranda in a school performance of The Tempest.”
Shah Rukh Khan had also spoken about his daughter, Suhana Khan’s wish to become an actress and how he is supportive of whatever his kids choose. Revealing the condition that he wants his kids to fulfil before opting for a film career, Shah Rukh had stated, "Suhana wants to be an actress. I see that zeal in her. She's extremely good on stage, I've seen her performances. But my point is simple — you need to complete your education before doing anything. That's the only thing I have told my children. Otherwise, they are free to be in the film industry, not be in it and do whatever they like. I will be supportive of whatever they want to do."
