Sumbul Touqeer Sharply Silences A Troll, Who Made Nasty Fat-Shaming Comment Over Her Appearance

Sumbul Touqeer gave a befitting reply to a troll, who made fun of her appearance and fat-shamed her on social media.

Sumbul Touqeer is one of the most popular faces in Tinseltown. She rose to fame with her stint in the show, Imlie, which gave her mammoth recognition. Going forth, she became a part of a number of reality shows and some other daily soaps, including Bigg Boss 16, Kavya-Ek Jazbaa Ek Junoon. She also was a part of films like Vaaste, Ishq Ho Gaya and Sazishen. Despite such stardom, Sumbul unfortunately becomes a victim of criticism often, be it on the basis of her dusky skin tone, or her physique. As something similar happened yet again, the actress silenced it sharply.

Sumbul Touqeer has a sharp response to a troll body-shaming her

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), a fan of Sumbul Touqeer re-shared a glimpse from one of her interviews. The diva looked gorgeous in a white off-shoulder dress, and she seemed to be proudly flaunting her curves, looking gorgeous as ever. However, the internet user wrote a caption, that directly fat-shamed Sumbul. The fan wrote:

However, it seems Sumbul was in no mood to let go of such an attacking remark about her body. Taking to the comment section, she penned a sharp reply to the internet user, questioning their reason for citing such a trifle matter. She penned:

Sumbul talked about the frequent criticism she has received over her skin tone

Earlier, during an interaction with Pinkvilla, Sumbul Touqeer revealed at length, how she has dealt with the frequent criticism coming her way, especially concerning her dusky skin tone. Calling it one of the key roadblocks in her career out of the many others, the diva revealed how such comments about her tone of colour affected her mentally. In her words:

Sumbul addressed the nay-sayers who commented about her educational qualifications

In yet another interaction with Zoom, Sumbul had reacted to people’s constant inquisitiveness about her educational qualifications. The fact that at the mere age of 20, the diva has achieved so much in terms of stardom hasn’t been well-absorbed by many repressive thinkers of our society. Explaining how it is incorrect for people to think that education has no value in her life, Sumbul mentioned:

“Who says education is not important to me? Many girls like me have responsibilities towards their families. But that doesn't mean I have abandoned my studies. I was pursuing commerce, but I have chosen to put it on hold temporarily to pursue a course in cinematography.”

When Sumbul revealed refusing Imlie over comments about her dark skin tone

Previously, while speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Sumbul Touqueer mentioned how initially, she refused to be a part of the serial, Imlie. While the show changed her career, she had to reject it initially, as she was already apprehensive of enacting a role that reflected her dusky skin tone. Sumbul mentioned how she already has faced a lot of criticism for her skin tone, and had faced multiple rejections over the same.
