The couple, who recently entered the phase of parenthood are none other than, Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul. The couple had announced the news of their pregnancy in April 2020, and finally, on June 3, 2020, Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul had welcomed their permanent junior roommate, embracing parenthood for the first time with the arrival of a baby boy named, Ved. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Sumeet had revealed why they have named their son, Ved, and had said, “Long ago, one of our relatives was having a child and we were discussing names, when Ved came up and stayed with me. I decided if I have a boy, I’ll name him Ved. Since we come from the line of, it makes sense.”
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Sumeet Vyas talked about the aspects of parenthood. He revealed that he and his wife, Ekta are still discovering new things, and still get confused when baby, Ved cries. He said, “So far, it has been good and lovely. My wife Ekta (Kaul) and I, are discovering something new every day. I’m still quite clueless and so is she. We don’t know what the baby really wants when he cries.”
Sumeet also expressed that he wants to have an easy bond with his 18 days old son when he grows up. He said, “I hope I’m well equipped to help him out when he comes to me to discuss anything — emotional, financial or anything else. Also, one thing that I’d like him to learn from me is to never give up in any situation in life.”
As Ved is amongst the babies born during the tough tiring times of Coronavirus, Sumeet feels that his son’s birth is a very unique story and he will certainly share it with him when he grows up. However, along with it, he would also like to explain to him the importance of valuing the things we have in life. He said, “I want to give a very philosophical point of view. He should have gratitude for what he has. I’ll teach him that no matter what one is going through, never take anything for granted – family, success, relationship or money. He should be ambitious but most importantly grateful.”
The Veere Di Wedding actor, Sumeet Vyas also talked about how his father, writer, B.M. Vyas had a balanced parenting skill. Sharing how he would like to pick a few aspects while raising his son, Ved, he said, “My father was very open, and never interfered with what I did. He always encouraged me to go ahead with my decisions. He let me explore a bunch of things what I wanted to do. I’m sure he knew probably that it wasn’t the best choice but he let me do it. That’s the most important thing — to let people explore their own possibilities and come to their own conclusion.” (Don't Miss: Shibani Dandekar And Farhan Akhtar's Lunch Date With Parents, Javed Akhtar And Shabana Azmi [Video])
