In an interview, ace director, Suneel Darshan recalled the time when he asked Priyanka Chopra to fix her nose. However, he mentioned how she could return to the sets, post the surgery, within a month.
Global icon, Priyanka Chopra's struggle with her nose surgery is nothing new. She has time and again opened up about the same, in several interviews. Once again, ace filmmaker, Suneel Darshan recalled the time when he asked Priyanka to fix her nose, and she just asked for a month to do so. For the unversed, Priyanka made her Bollywood debut with the film, Andaaz, opposite Akshay Kumar and Lara Dutta, directed by Suneel Darshan. However, her first Hindi film was The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, which was released a month earlier.
In an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Suneel Darshan recalled the time when he met Priyanka Chopra for the first time. It was when he was searching for a fresh face to cast in his film, that he was approached by Priyanka. The then-booming actress had come to his office to meet him along with her dad, Ashok Chopra. Suneel said:
“I wanted to cast a fresh face in the film, and one day, I got a call from the reception saying that someone had come to meet me with a girl. I make sure to meet whoever comes over to my office, and it was Priyanka Chopra. I looked at her and thought, ‘Really?’ I asked them to take a seat.”

However, Suneel revealed that he wasn't impressed with Priyanka's first look. However, the filmmaker felt Priyanka's eyes were hypnotic, her voice was alluring, and her hunger to succeed in life was visible. Thus, he was immediately ready to cast her in the films. But Suneel asked her to get her nose surgery done and continued:
“She was not a conventional beauty, but within 15 minutes, I knew I was going to cast her. Uski aankhein itni zabardast chalti thi, uski awaaz sexy aur nasheeli thi, uski bhook gehri thi. These were sufficient reasons to bet on her. I told her that she was perfect for the role, and asked her to immediately fix the problem with her nose."
Further, Suneel added, "Her father was a very, very accomplished plastic surgeon." Thus, upon listening to Suneel's advice, Priyanka was immediately ready to do so. And Suneel revealed, "She said, ‘No problem, sir, I’ll be ready’. I told her that we were going on the floors in 10 days, but she said that she needed more time.” Ending the interview, Suneel mentioned that Priyanka was back on the sets within a month, proving her dedication towards her professional commitments.

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Thikana, the Gadar 2 director, Anil Sharma recalled the time when Priyanka Chopra was all set to make her Bollywood debut with the film, The Hero: Love Story of a Spy. Anil revealed that after signing Priyanka, he left for abroad. However, when he returned, he was not able to recognise her. Adding that she looked "terrible" after her nose surgery, Anil said it was due to her sinus problem, which left a mark under her nose. Revealing about her depressed condition, Anil said:
"She looked terrible, she was so dark, what in the world had she done to herself. I summoned her immediately, and she came over the next day with her mother. They (Priyanka and her mother, Madhu) were in tears, they told me about the operation, which had even left a mark under her nose. It's still there to this day. They said it would take months to heal, and that Priyanka had been dropped from several projects she'd already signed. Priyanka was depressed. She had decided to return to Bareilly and return after some months, and was offering her signing amount back to me."
