Recently, Sunidhi Chauhan revealed that she stopped judging reality singing TV shows when the makers asked her to support some particular contestants over others.
Sunidhi Chauhan is one of the top singers in the Indian music industry. She began her career at the mere age of 5 and went on to become one of the highest-paid female singers in the country. Sunidhi is credited for singing some of the most popular songs in Bollywood like, Shelia Ki Jawani, Gun Gun Guna, Desi Girl, and Crazy Kiya Re, among others. Recently, the singer revealed why she stopped being a judge on reality TV shows and how she has not received her pay for singing many popular songs in her career.
Sunidhi Chauhan appeared in Raj Shamani's podcast and made several startling revelations. The singer judged several reality singing shows in the past, like Indian Idol Season 5 and 6, The Voice, and Dil Hai Hindustani season 2. However, after 2018, she never judged a reality show. So, Raj Shamani asked her about her experience with them and why she stopped judging more reality-singing TV shows. The singer revealed that they don't showcase reality and create fake narratives. She was quoted as saying:
"I enjoyed my first two years when there was no emotional drama, just fun, and the performance you heard was the same as what was broadcast on TV. Now, what you watch is all doctored, its all corrected."

She added that almost every reality TV show is now edited and manipulated. In addition, Sunidhi said that the makers often try to highlight the positive side of a contestant. So, whenever someone gets eliminated, the fans get confused about its possible reason. All these things didn't seem right to her, and she stopped being a part of it. The most shocking experience for Sunidhi was when makers asked her to promote some contestants irrespective of their performance, which further helped them in business.
Sunidhi Chauhan admitted that she hasn't been paid for some of her most popular songs in the same podcast. Raj added that many singers say that they are asked to sing multiple versions of a song and get paid for one of them. She agreed that singers are often not paid in the industry. In her words:
"I haven't got money for many movies, even today they don't give me. They ask and I choose not to take it because I feel for this song I don't need money. At some places I would like to help so I say my price and I sing the song. You don't want to hurt anybody's ego because everyone does not think like you. They might also not understand how you feel."
