During Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul's wedding, daddy, Suniel Shetty reportedly got emotional and broke down into tears.
It was one of the most joyful moments for actor, Suniel Shetty as his darling daughter, Athiya Shetty got married to the love of her life, Indian cricketer, KL Rahul. The lovely couple exchanged their wedding vows on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s lavish bungalow in Khandala. And for the veteran actor, seeing his daughter, Athiya in her bridal attire was the most emotional moment.
As per a report in Bollywood Life, a source close to the family revealed that Suniel Shetty was emotional throughout the ceremony and couldn’t hold back his tears during Rahul and Athiya’s pheras. As per the source:
“Suniel had this very cool Anna image. But he is also a very emotional person and a doting father. It was heartening to see him happy and at the same time tear up to see his little daughter become a bride. He was emotional all through the pheras.”

The source also stated that Suniel took care of all the arrangements at the wedding and took good care of everyone. Stating how he played a perfect host, the source continued:
“He looked after everything himself and ensured that everybody attending the wedding, inside and out, were comfortable and taken good care of. The father in him truly took over and he played the perfect host.”
On January 23, 2023, Suniel Shetty greeted the paps with sweets along with his son, Ahan Shetty, after Athiya and Rahul’s wedding ceremony got over. Suniel looked dapper in a beige-coloured kurta and dhoti. On the other hand, Ahaan donned a white bandhgala and pyjama. The doting father, who was over the moon, also stated that he is officially a father-in-law.

After the wedding ceremony, Athiya and Rahul came out and posed for the paps. The newlywed looked the happiest as they smiled while holding hands. The gorgeous bride also flaunted her huge diamond ring.
For the wedding, Athiya opted for a heavily embellished peach-hued lehenga from the ace designer, Anamika Khanna's collection. She paired it with a polki neckpiece, matching earrings, a sleek maang teeka, matching kadas and unique kaleeras. She completed her look with dewy makeup, winged eyes and nude lipstick. On the other hand, KL Rahul looked handsome in an ivory sherwani paired with a matching doshala.
Suniel Shetty is a doting father and will be an amazing father-in-law!
