Bollywood actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti is asking for help to wave-off her 7-day quarantine period, when she'll arrive in Mumbai on June 16th.
With news about COVID-19 and the tremendous rise in the number of cases in a single-day, headlines were just like any other day. But suddenly in the afternoon of June 14, 2020, television screens had started screaming ‘Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide’. The news was all over the internet within seconds and Twitter was covered with the hashtags of his movies. One of the most humble, sincere, and talented young actors of Bollywood, who was on the curve of getting better and bigger with the projects he had in his hands lost the battle in front of the most insignificant illness, Mental health. Whether we talk about his gentleman behaviour, charming smile, or his inspiring success story from being a television actor to winning a million hearts through his acting in the biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, he was simply everyone’s favourite. Tons of speculations and assumptions are going on the internet regarding his decision of committing suicide. While some are linking this with the suicide of his ex-manager, Disha Salian, some are highlighting the dark side of Bollywood, where it’s hard to find true friends, who’ll be on your side through thick and thin. The actor had impressed everyone with his tremendous acting in movies like Kai Po Che, Sonchiriya, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath and Chhichhore. But sadly, we will not be able to witness his magic on the big screen and all we have now is his memories in the locker of our hearts. Coming back to the tragedy, the family of Sushant Singh Rajput has arrived in Mumbai, to do his last rites. While one of his sisters, Shweta Singh Kirti is stuck in the United States and has asked for help in arranging her tickets to India through her Facebook account.
On June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti took to her Facebook account and posted a status in which she asked for help as she’s unable to get tickets to India because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Her status can be read as “I need to fly to India ASAP… not being able to get any flight tickets… if anyone can help… please let me know.” However, Shweta has confirmed after some hours that she has arranged a ticket for herself and will fly and reach on June 16 from the US. But the doting sister is worried about the 7-days quarantine period and has asked for some help regarding that in her another status that can be read as “By everyone’s help… tickets to India are confirmed. I am flying on 16th, will reach Mumbai via Delhi. Worried about the 7 Day quarantine period… is there a way it can be waived off? I need to get to my family soon.” Take a look. However, his father, KK Singh with some other members of the family has arrived in Mumbai from Patna to perform his last rites. The tragic news of his demise has left everyone in a state of shock and it’s hard to believe that the talented star is no more with us. For the uninitiated, the actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence and it was his domestic help, who informed the neighbours when Sushant didn’t open the door of his room after multiple knocks and calls from the domestic help. Soon the police arrived at his residence and broke into his room when they found him hanging to the ceiling of his room.
While Sushant Singh Rajput’s family is demanding a CBI inquiry for his death as they believe their son couldn’t commit suicide under any circumstance. Well, we have to wait and see whether the government is going to handover the case from the hands of Mumbai Police to the CBI. As for now, a statement has been released by the Mumbai police that can be read as “Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide, Mumbai Police is investigating. - DCP Pranay Ashok, Spokesperson Mumbai Police.” However, one thing is quite clear and confirmed that the actor was suffering from depression and was undergoing the treatment of the same for the past few months.
