It was in the afternoon of June 14, 2020, when the news channels had flashed the breaking news of actor, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The versatile actor, known for his performances in Kai Po Che, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and many more had committed suicide at his Mumbai residence. The news of Sushant’s untimely death had sent shock waves through the entire Bollywood industry and in the hearts of all his fans. It has been more than a month since Sushant Singh Rajput's demise and him, leaving his family, friends and fans with some unanswered questions.
Since Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, his friends and fans have come forward to raise their voice demanding a CBI enquiry on his case. Some days back, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father had filed a FIR accusing his then girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty of abetment to suicide. Amidst all this, on August 1, 2020, Sushant’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti took to her IG handle and made an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to look into SSR’s case while expecting justice to prevail. The doting sister wrote, “I am sister of Sushant Singh Rajput and I request an urgent scan of the whole case. We believe in India’s judicial system & expect justice at any cost. @narendramodi @PMOIndia.”
After the FIR filed against Rhea Chakraborty, the actress had applied at the Supreme Court to transfer the case from Patna police to Mumbai. She had stated that the trauma of her boyfriend’s death had multiplied with the death and rape threats because of the constant media scrutiny. Rhea Chakraborty had informed the court that she was in a live-in relationship with Sushant Singh Rajput till June 8, 2020, and had claimed that he was on anti-depressants due to depression. In an interview with the Times Now, Sushant Singh Rajput's family friend, Nilotpal Mrinal had made some serious allegations against Rhea Chakraborty and Mahesh Bhatt. Nilotpal had stated, “If Sushant bhai was not keeping well, why did she not tell Sushant’s family about his situation? Rhea Chakraborty was not married to Sushant Singh Rajput. Despite informing his family members, she changed her number. She never let Sushant bhai get connected with his family."
Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande was also interrogated by the Bihar Police and during the interrogation, Ankita had revealed that Sushant was not very happy in his relationship with Rhea. She had stated, “He is quite unhappy in the relationship and wanted to end it as Rhea harassed him.” After the FIR was filed against Rhea, Ankita had shared a cryptic post on her IG handle. She had posted a picture, which could be read as "Truth Wins". Sushant's sister, Shweta Singh Kriti had also commented on it and had written, "God is always with the truth".
