Sushmita Sen's daughter, Renee Sen is often asked about her 'biological parents'. She reacted to the constant question and won our hearts!
Sushmita Sen had made India proud not only when she had won the title of Miss Universe, but she had also inspired people by adopting her daughters, Renee and Alisah. Sushmita was only 24 when she had adopted her first child, Renee after a complicated legal battle. Later, in 2010, she had adopted another girl, Alisah, breaking stereotypes and proving that motherhood comes naturally to a woman.
Sushmita Sen’s daughter, Renee Sen had made her acting debut with the short film, Suttabaazi and is preparing for her big Bollywood debut. When Renee had appeared on the cover of a leading magazine, her mommy, Sushmita had cheered for her the loudest. Sharing a picture, Sushmita had written on her IG handle, “Sooooo Sooooooo Proud of you Renee Shona!!! Big Dreams & little steps...A self-made story in the making!! All our love & blessings always @reneesen47 #duggadugga. Maa, Alisah @rohmanshaw.”

Sushmita has been a hands-on mother for Renee and Alisah and has in fact given them the freedom to know about their biological parents, however, her love overpowers it all. In a conversation with Peeping Moon, Renee talked about people asking her about her biological mother. She recalled how she is asked about her biological mother on her IG handle. She said, "On Instagram, I'm asked this question that who is my mother. I just want to say, "Please define what's a real mother?"
Renee further mentioned that her truth is out in the open and people should be nicer to each other. She added, "See, I understand that people are interested in our lives, in what we eat. It's fine, but I do feel like people need to be nicer to each other. My truth is very out and open. But what if it's someone else? We don't know how it'll affect them. So, yes, I feel like we must be a little sensitive.”

Renee also mentioned that she has grown up with this fact and it doesn’t matter to her. She concluded, “For me, it's different, because I've grown up with this... For me, it doesn't matter. But for someone else who wants to keep their life private, we don't know how your question can affect them. Let's not ask until a person tell you themselves."
Earlier, in a conversation with Rajeev Masand, Sushmita Sen had shared that when Renee had turned 16, she had offered to find her biological parents. Sushmita had told Renee that there is an envelope that has information about her biological parents and she had the right to access it when she turns 18. Sushmita had further told her, “I’ll take you whenever you’re ready... we must go.’ She told me, ‘But why do you want me to go find out?’"
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Renee had shared that she doesn’t feel the need to know about her biological parents as her mother, Sushmita Sen is everything to her. She had added that she understands that her biological parents may have had some circumstances, but this is her family now.
