It was back in 2014 when Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan parted ways with each other, and two years after their divorce, she talked about the real reason behind their split. Here's what she said!
Termed as one of the most handsome actors ever in the history of Indian cinema, Hrithik Roshan broke a billion hearts when he married the love of his life, Sussanne Khan, on December 20, 2000. The couple got the title of Bollywood's 'IT Couple' courtesy of their first meeting at the traffic signal, which made both of them fall in love with each other. The couple ruled the industry with their presence and how they led their marriage for years to come.
Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan welcomed two children, Hreehan Roshan was born in 2006, while Hridhaan Roshan was born in 2008. The family of four was riding high on happiness, giving everyone pure family goals. However, cracks started appearing in their paradise weeks before their 13th wedding anniversary in 2013. Soon, their separation reports started making rounds in the media and finally, to everyone's shock, Hrithik and Sussanne got divorced in 2014.

Two years after her divorce from Hrithik Roshan, Sussanne Khan sat down in a conversation with Femina in 2016 and talked about it. The ace fashion designer talked about a lot of things and even addressed the much-asked question, 'What was the real reason behind Sussanne Khan and Hrithik Roshan's divorce?' In response to the question, Sussanne labelled her marriage with Hrithik as a 'false relationship'. She clearly stated that she didn't want to be a part of such a relationship.
Further, in the same interview, Sussanne Khan was also asked about Hrithik Roshan's role as a father after their divorce. Leaving their personal differences aside, she admitted that Hrithik is a great dad, and he never skips a chance to be with their sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan. Calling him 'very committed', Sussanne revealed that her ex-husband always prioritises their sons' interests before him. She said:
"We had reached a stage in our lives where I decided that it's better we weren't together. It was important to be aware and not be in a false relationship."

Coming back to her equation with Hrithik Roshan after their split, the actor's ex-wife, Sussanne Khan termed him as one of her 'close friends'. Revealing their equation after divorce, she admitted that they don't hang out together like before, but there's mutual respect in their hearts for each other. Sussanne also highlighted the fact that both she and Hrithik are committed and mature enough to understand the importance of keeping their personal issues aside when it comes to parenting. Explaining her take, she said:
"We are close (friends). We do chat a lot even though we don't hang out together anymore. But above all, we are very committed to our children. We are respectful towards each other. When children are involved, it's important to put our differences aside and protect them."
Everyone is aware of Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut's ugly controversy that had divided the film industry into two camps back in 2014. Soon after Hrithik's divorce from his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, it was Kangana, who broke the headlines when she revealed that she and Hrithik were in a relationship. A series of counters were made from both sides, but their spat took an ugly turn when Kangana posted an intimate picture with Hrithik.
Soon, the picture was circulated all over the internet, but Sussanne Khan took a stand for Hrithik Roshan and cleared the controversy by claiming that Kangana Ranaut's photo with Hrithik was morphed. The doting ex-wife even posted a picture with Hrithik from the same party. Along with the picture, Sussanne penned a few lines, and it could be read as:
"Pictures are photoshopped and untrue stories carry 2 much weight. Another pic for d record. I support @Hrithik in this."
Since their divorce, time and again, we have seen Sussanne Khan supporting Hrithik Roshan and coming to his rescue like a true friend. Everyone saw a glimpse of the same when Sussanne moved in with her ex-husband during the COVID-19 lockdown to co-parent their kids, Hridaan and Hrehaan.
From Hrithik to netizens on social media, everyone lauded her move and appreciated her for putting her kids' interests before their personal differences. After Sussanne moved to Hrtihik's house, the latter penned a long appreciation note for his ex-wife. An excerpt from his long note could be read as:
"This is a picture of dear Sussanne (my ex-wife), who has graciously volunteered to temporarily move out of her home so that our children are not disconnected indefinitely from either one of us. Thank you Sussanne for being so supportive and understanding in our journey of co-parenting."
Fast forward to 2024, Hrithik Roshan is in a steady relationship with ace singer and actress, Saba Azad. The couple reportedly started dating each other during the latter months of 2022. Reports are rife that they will soon take the plunge. However, Hrithik and Saba are still taking one step at a time.
On the other side, Sussanne Khan is also in a happy relationship with renowned actor, Arslan Goni, who is the brother of famous television actor, Aly Goni. Both couples are reportedly on the verge of getting married, but as of now, they're enjoying the ride and leaving no chance to give their fans pure couple goals. Also, time and again, we have seen Hrithik, Saba, Sussanne, and Arslan partying and hanging out together, which speaks volumes about their concrete bond.
