Swara Bhasker is one such actress known for her bold opinions and unconventional choices, that simply set her apart from the league. Time and again, through the power of social media, the actress hasn’t fretted out from pulling out truth bombs, and has, on the contrary, got herself unfairly labelled as a controversial personality. More recently, Swara has been vocal about people trying to body-shame her, after she gave birth to her daughter, Raabiya. And something similar happened yet again.

Swara Bhasker, along with her husband, Fahad Ahmed, recently turned over a new chapter of their lives, as they welcomed their bundle of joy, Raabiyaa into the world. While a large section of her fans has been congratulating and sending their best wishes to the new mom and baby. There has also been a particular segment of netizens who cannot refrain themselves from passing mean comments on Swara’s changed physical appearance, after giving birth.

Recently, a fan of Swara took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a carousel of two pictures of the actress. While the first one dated back to the diva’s younger years, the next one was a rather recent snapshot, after she became a mother. The actress looked slightly curvy, as it is a natural thing for new mommies to gain weight. However, the internet user penned a nasty caption, and compared the two frames and asked ‘what did she eat?’.To this, Swara immediately took note of and sassily responded back:

Swara opened up about battling with postpartum depression

Earlier, in a heartfelt revelation with ETimes, Swara Bhasker had opened up about her journey of dealing with postpartum depression, right after the birth of her little one. The diva acknowledged how such a condition is quite different for each woman out there. However, when it comes to her case, she has felt like adapting herself to a new life altogether. In her words:

“Postpartum depression is personal and unique to each person. The degrees are different, the experience is singular. Its one of those experiences that unless you’ve been through it, there is actually no way of understanding what it is and what it does to you. I am only eight months postpartum so I’m in the throes of adapting to this new life, new body, new soul and new me. I haven’t isolated myself.”

This hasn’t been the first time that Swara Bhasker has dealt with negative criticism over her weight gain post pregnancy. While it is a natural phenomenon that most women deal with, in her case, people have been insensitive with their remarks. For instance, back on June 4, 2024, the actress took to her social media handle and called out a news outlet for publishing a false narrative, highlighting how Swara lost out on many work opportunities due to her weight gain after delivering her daughter.

Swara Bhasker claimed people in Bollywood have cast her aside like an untouchable

Previously, in an interview with Connect Cine, Swara Bhasker candidly revealed how she feels people in the film industry have sort of demarcated her as an untouchable. Explaining the reason behind such a fierce assertion, the actress mentioned that people are afraid of roping her in for work, since they consider her as a controversial person. She added:

“If there was anything in the world that was most expensive for me, it was my Twitter account because it cost me my career, in a sense. For a lot of producers, I am untouchable in the industry and these are not my words, these are the words of my well-wishers, producer, director friends who have called me up and told me. People tell me that we wanted to cast you but the studio heard your name and said no. They are like ‘no, controversies happen’. I don’t know what is the fear but there is a fear.”
