Delhi ki kudi, Taapsee Pannu and Gwalior ka munda, Kartik Aaryan, who wouldn’t want to see them together? Be it Kartik Aaryan’s Love Aaj Kal 2 co-star, Sara Ali Khan to Pati, Patni Aur Woh co-star, Ananya Panday, both have expressed their love for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety star. But when asked Pink fame, Taapsee if she would want to date Kartik, she gave an unexpected answer.
During the promotions of her Tamil-Telugu bilingual drama thriller film, Game Over, Taapsee Pannu was asked by Pinkvilla if she would be keen on dating Luka Chuppi star, Kartik Aaryan, she immediately declined. Calling 'Game Over' on him, Taapsee explained her reason, "There is already a crowd around him. I don't want to stand in a long queue for him."
For the ones who aren’t privy to what had happened between them, Taapsee Pannu was one of the top choices for Pati, Patni Aur Woh, opposite Kartik Aaryan but she was unceremoniously removed from the film. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, when Taapsee was asked to comment on being dropped from the film last minute, she had retorted, "Poor Mudassar (director Mudassar Ali) also hasn't been given a reason for it. He was just asked to 'take someone else.' When I tried to confront the producers, I wasn't given a proper reason. As much as I have been trying to get some clarity on the matter, they have been putting the conversation off, which is very weird. After moving my dates, I think it would have been better if I was informed about the development instead of finding about it from others. I deserve an answer. This is disheartening." Giving her fans an insight on her life, her struggles and what she has gone through to achieve everything she has today, Taapsee Pannu in an interview with Humans Of Bombay had said, “I got into modelling during my college days, just to make some extra pocket money. I had scored 88% in my CAT exams and was enroute to pursuing my MBA when I got an offer for a film — it happened as organically as that. Thereafter, three of the films I worked in didn’t work and I got the label of ‘iron leg’ — I was ‘rumoured’ to bring bad luck to films. Mind you, all of these films had huge male co-stars and directors, but the failure of movies was blamed upon my bad luck. Thereafter, I’ve been asked to reduce my pay, I’ve been thrown out of films because the producer was having financial issues. This was all before I did the movie Pink, but believe it or not even after that there’s stigma I’ve had to deal with.”
Taapsee Pannu added, “Actors have refused to work with me in Bollywood, because I’m not an ‘A list actress’. Producers have finalised me, locked my dates and then randomly backed out at the last minute because they got a bigger name. Expecting equal pay is far off, even the basic amount is something I have to fight for— but I’m not complaining. I’m here because I love acting — I may not be the most glamorous, or have the perfect body but I believe in my art. I don’t like indulging in self pity…I enjoy being strong and independent.”
Speaking about not immersing herself into self-pity and continue to live a strong and independent life, Taapsee Pannu had stated, “Just a few weeks ago, I was going to a Keertan in Delhi where in the middle of the crowd I felt a guy trying to poke me from behind. I didn’t even turn to look at him, I grabbed his finger and twisted it so hard that he winced in pain. Truth is, I’m less heroine and more the ‘hero’ in my story and for some that’s a bitter pill to swallow, but then that’s tough…because I’m not going anywhere.” (Also Read: Raj Kummar Rao And Patralekhaa Recreate Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol's DDLJ Climax Scene, It Screams Love)
