Taapsee Pannu Reveals Why She's Flying To Paris With Her Husband-Badminton Coach, Mathias Boe

Paris Olympics 2024 is dominating the headlines, and Indian athletes are all set to do their best at the event. It will begin on July 26, 2024, and end on August 11, 2024. A total of 114 athletes are representing India. Many Bollywood celebrities have sent their best wishes to the Indian contingent, and actress, Taapsee Pannu is all set to fly to Paris on July 29, 2024, to attend the event. Recently, she sat down for an interview with the Hindustan Times and revealed its reason.

Taapsee Pannu reveals that she will be attending the Paris Olympics 2024 to support her husband, Mathias Boe

Taapsee is married to badminton coach, Mathias Boe. The couple dated for a decade before tying the knot in March 2024. Mathias has trained badminton players, Chirag Shetty & Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, participating in the Paris Olympics 2024. So, Taapsee will be travelling to Paris to support her husband. At the same time, the actress is excited to attend the event and called it a 'once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.' She was quoted as saying:

"He is a coach for our country's team, and Satvik and Chirag are probably one of the best contenders to bring an Olympic medal. I feel more motivated and excited to attend this one and cheer for them. Also, it falls around my birthday (August 1), so I guess these are enough and more reasons for me to be at the Olympics."

Mathias has been training Indian shuttlers, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty since 2021. A few months ago, the duo won the Thailand Open 2024, achieving the No.1 position in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) men's doubles rankings. They hold the 3rd spot and are all set to perform and bring out their best.

Taapsee shares that she didn't go to see the Olympic games when Mathias participated as an athlete

Mathias Boe is a renowned badminton player from Denmark. He won a gold medal at the 2015 European Games and was the European champion twice in 2012 and 2017. Moreover, Mathias won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Taapsee said she first met Mathias when he returned after winning the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics. He participated in the following Olympic games as well. But Taapsee didn't go to witness him play. The actress revealed that she became stressed while watching him play. In her words:

"I first met Mathias when he had already come back from the Olympics after winning his medal (in 2012). And the next Olympics he took part in as an athlete, I didn't want to attend because I get really stressed watching him play."

Taapsee has booked her return tickets after the finals at Paris Olympics 2024

Taapsee will land in Paris on July 29, 2024. By then, the players will have already played two group matches. However, the actress has booked her return tickets after the date of the finals of the men's doubles. The Shabaash Mithu actress is hopeful that the duo of Chirag and Satwiksairaj will play in the finals. In addition, the actress is looking to watch and support other games at the event.
