Tabu once revealed being cheated by Sanjay Kapoor when they were dating each other. Read on to know what happened in their relationship.
Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, also known as Tabu, is one of the most graceful actresses on and off-screen. Even at the age of 52, she can steal your hearts with her mysterious eyes. Over the years, Tabu has mesmerised us with her brilliant performances in films like Maachis, Astitva, Chandni Bar, Maqbool, Cheeni Kum, Haider, Drishyam and many more.
Tabu has done justice to each and every role she has played on-screen. Be it a victim of Sikh insurgency in Maachis or being the antagonist in Andhadhun, none of her roles have gone unnoticed. While Tabu has achieved exceptional heights with her performances, it is her personal life that has often left her fans curious.
The actress is single even at the age of 52, but she was once madly in love with a Bollywood actor. We are talking about none other than the handsome Sanjay Kapoor, for whom Tabu once skipped her heartbeat. Tabu’s first serious affair was with Sanjay Kapoor, with whom she worked in the film, Prem. It was during the making of the film that the two developed feelings for one another.
However, soon, the news of their breakup surfaced in newspapers. Once, in an interview with The Times of India, Sanjay spoke about his short-lived affair with Tabu and said:
“I was dating Tabu at that time initially, but by the end of it, we were not talking to each other."
While Tabu and Sanjay were dating, people in the industry hoped it would last long. But to everyone’s surprise, they broke up. But it was reportedly Sanjay who was the reason behind their split as he allegedly cheated Tabu with Maheep. Once, in an old interview, Tabu threw light on the same and shared that Sanjay ditched her for Maheep. In her words:
“He was seeing Maheep even when we were going around.”
Maheep Kapoor once revealed how she had a one-night stand with Sanjay Kapoor, and that is how their affair started. Speaking on Raunaq Rajani’s YouTube show, Maheep narrated her love story with Sanjay and said:
“Ours was quite simple. I just had a one-night stand with this man and I never knew I was going to get married to him. I gatecrashed his party, that’s where I met him, dead drunk.”
Coming back to Tabu, after her heartbreaking split with Sanjay, she reportedly fell in love with director-producer, Sajid Nadiadwala. Tabu and Sajid have always been good friends, but their relationship blossomed only while working together on the film, Jeet. But Sajid hesitated to commit to Tabu because he still had feelings for his wife, the late Divya Bharti.
The gorgeous actress later developed feelings for South Indian superstar, Akkineni Nagarjuna, who was already married. After ten long years of being in a relationship with Nagarjuna, Tabu realised that he would not leave his wife. She took a firm step and broke up with him. Despite the many reported linkups and affairs, Tabu is still single and is not looking for a relationship to settle down in life.
