Tabu and Ajay Devgn share a good friendship separate from their professional collaborations. In a recent interview, Tabu revealed the reason for the same.
Tabu is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. Despite her long career, she never stops experimenting with new roles and genres. Her impressive acting, straightforward attitude, and grace have earned her a lot of fans. Tabu is busy promoting her upcoming film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, co-starring Ajay Devgn, and spilling beans on her bond with the actor.
Recently, Tabu sat down for an interview with India Today and shared the origin of her friendship with Ajay Devgn. Tabu shared that she has known Ajay since the two were 12 or 13 years old. The Jai Ho actress added that Ajay was her brother's childhood friend. As a result, they used to often meet and, in a way, grew up together. She shares a different equation with the Singham actor than her other male co-stars. She was quoted saying:
"I don't know him through films. I think that's why the equation is different. I don't have this equation with most of the male co-stars that I've worked with except him. Because I know him from a different time, it's a different relationship."

Ajay Devgn and Tabu have done several films together over the years. Tabu shared that Ajay has always been the same kind of person over the years. His marriage, kids, and success haven't changed his nature. At the same time, the Crew actress revealed that he has always been passionate about cinema and wanted to be a director. Also, she feels comfortable working with him as they have known each other for a long time, which formed the basis of their relationship. For the unversed, they have worked on ten films together. In her words:
"He was always very passionate about cinema. He wanted to be a director. He never wanted to be an actor. He used to make these short films. So I remember him like that. So I think the ease and the comfort I have with him is because I've known him much before we both got into acting. That is the basis of our relationship."
Tabu first appeared on-screen when she was 11 in the film, Bazaar (1982). However, she played her first lead role in Telugu film Coolie No.1 (1991). She has worked in several successful films with different filmmakers and actors. However, when directors or producers often have issues with her, they call Ajay and ask him to discuss it with her. Tabu added that she respects Ajay a lot. In her words:
"Like, I know that many times it happens that whenever I have issues with a producer or a filmmaker or whatever, they will call Ajay and say, 'You talk to her. She is not shooting or promoting the film.But the one thing I must acknowledge about him is that he never tries to come in the way of my decisions or tries to influence me. He respects my space."

On the work front, Tabu was last seen in Crew, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Kareena Kapoor. She will next be seen in her upcoming film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, co-starring Ajay Devgn. The film is based on the story of a couple who reunites after 20 years. The film was earlier slated to release on July 5, 2024. However, its release has been postponed and no new date has been announced.
