Recently, Tabu was asked about her opinion on the pay parity debate at an event. In her reply, the actress said that a male actor or the filmmakers should be asked this question.
Tabu is busy promoting her new film, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha. She is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. Tabu has shined through her long career spanning over three decades and never fails to take up challenging roles. Despite her success, Tabu has always maintained a humble demeanor and is known for her outspoken nature.
Recently, Tabu appeared on the We Are Yuvaa podcast, where she was asked about her opinion on the gender pay gap in Indian cinema. In her reply, Tabu cross-questioned them and asked why this question was not asked from a male actor or filmmaker who gives the pay. She was quoted as saying:
"Every media person will ask females about pay parity. They will say, 'You know a man is paid more, you are paid less'. So why are you asking me? Why don't you ask the person who is paying them more."

In addition, Tabu shared that question about gender pay bias is asked to actresses to sensationalise the topic. But, asking this question to a male actor or filmmaker changes the perspective about the issue. In her words:
"I can say 'I hate that I'm being paid less' or 'I'm okay with what I'm being paid.' Why don't you ask the male actor why you are getting paid more? This might change the perspective, and the whole thing will change if there is an outside lens. Physicality is always in the context."
In a previous interview with Hindustan Times, Tabu shared that female actors' situation is improving. She emphasised that cinema is growing and female actresses are getting better roles. She added that women are getting more 'interesting' and 'layered' characters to play in films, TV and OTT. However, this was a big deal 20 years ago.
