Days after announcing her breast cancer relapse, Tahira Kashyap announced a powerful comeback in her latest Instagram post.
Filmmaker and author, Tahira Kashyap, has proven herself to be a force to be reckoned with. After sharing a relapse of her breast cancer earlier in April 2025, Tahira is willing to rewrite her own script. The filmmaker recently shared a life update with her followers, and her take has won the hearts of many.
On April 24, 2025, Tahira took to her Instagram handle to share a life update amid her breast cancer relapse. She announced her return to work while battling the deadly disease for the second time. With the iconic Bollywood line, “Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” Tahira shared a photo of herself behind a laptop with a document that read like a movie script. The heartfelt note read:
“INTERVAL – INT/EXT DAY UNIVERSE... After a brief interim this woman in question holds her laptop to write another script one more time. With gratitude in her heart, prayer on her lips and a smile beaming through her eyes she mumbles—ME: Thank you universe, thank you God for all the challenges and all the blessings.”
In her note, Tahira Kashyap introduced herself as “Tahira 3.0,” symbolising a renewed version of herself. She highlighted her determination to embrace change and return to work, refusing to let the disease hold her back. She wrote:
“Had it not been for these obstacles, I wouldn't have acknowledged your love. Thank you for giving me another opportunity to become a better version of myself. And so here’s to Tahira 3.0 version! Back to the grind, back to the hustle, back to life, and so glad to be back at work! Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.”
Tahira’s powerful message had fans and fellow celebs rallying their support around her. Her husband, Ayushmann Khurrana, responded with a heart emoji in the comments. Aparshakti Khurana, Bhumi Pednekar, Saiyami Kher, Nakuul Mehta and others flooded the comments with red hearts, cheering on her resilience.
The post came just days after Tahira Kashyap courageously revealed that her breast cancer had relapsed, nearly seven years after she first overcame stage zero breast cancer in 2018. In her note shared on April 7, 2025, she remarked that while she wasn’t sure if it was a “seven-year itch” or the result of routine screening, she preferred to believe it was the latter. Urging others to go for regular mammograms, she acknowledged that it’s round two for her, but she’s fully prepared to fight again. Her announcement note read:
“Seven year itch or the power of regular screening - it’s a perspective, I had like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everyone who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me… I still got this.”
On the work front, Tahira Kashyap made her directorial debut with Sharmajee Ki Beti, a comedy-drama starring Divya Dutta, Sakshi Tanwar, and Saiyami Kher. It was released on Amazon Prime Video in June 2024.
