Kareena Kapoor Khan talked about Taimur Ali Khan's name controversy and how it affected her. The actress shared her son has no idea about the same, and they are trying to make him understand.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the most versatile actresses in the Hindi film industry. Right from the beginning of her career, Kareena proved her mettle in the acting world and won everyone's hearts with her starry aura. In her personal life, Kareena is married to Saif Ali Khan, and they are parents to two sons, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan. When Taimur was born, there was a whole lot of controversy regarding his name, which even left Kareena crying in the hospital itself. Time and again, she opened up about this controversy, and the same thing happened again.
Kareena Kapoor Khan recently sat for an interview with Miss Malini, wherein she was asked about Taimur's name controversy. Talking about this, the actress mentioned that it was huge and it affected her in many ways. Kareena further added that Taimur probably has no idea about the same as of now. She stated how a huge drama erupted with Taimur's name, and now just everybody shed a very 'ok whatever' attitude to her son's name. For the uninitiated, the controversy was caused as people thought the little one's name was taken from the Turkish invader, Timur.
Going further in the interview, Kareena Kapoor Khan mentioned that now things have changed, and her son, Taimur, gets a lot of love from people. The actress mentioned that she was unsure about why people were talking badly about a little baby's name, but now that Taimur is also understanding the culture and trying to adapt to the fact that he would be in the limelight, Kareena can be quoted as saying:
"Of course, it affected me that people were talking about his name. He probably doesn’t even know that there was a whole drama and now suddenly everybody if like, ‘Ok whatever’. But he also got a lot of love for the fact that people were so interested in him. I was like, ‘But why? Because you don’t even know him, he is so small’. So I feel that now he will slowly understand and is understanding the whole culture of the fact that people follow him or he is being clicked."
Kareena Kapoor Khan continued to state that she has made her son understand that he would have to do something just like his parents have done the same. The actress further remarked that Saif had also helped her in the situation, and he was very calm with it. Thus, both of them had each other to talk this out. Kareena said that she likes to be accessible to her fans through social media, but she doesn't put everything out there. In Kareena's words:
"But I have to obviously keep reminding him that, ‘It’s important that you do something, your parents have done something.’ So he has figured it out slowly and I took that in my stride. In fact, Saif was very relaxed and calm also about it. He was like, ‘We need to be calm and we need to be sure.’ So I’m happy we had each other to discuss that. That’s also the reason why I share a lot on Instagram but yet I don’t share a lot on Instagram. I’m happy to be accessible to my fans for what."
In an old interview with Barkha Dutt, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared that she was all scared when the controversy around Taimur's name erupted. The actress said that, as a mom, she has the right to name her son, and no one should be concerned about it. Sharing a story, Kareena mentioned a famous person who came to visit her in the hospital and started questioning her son's name when she delivered her son just eight hours ago. Kareena was shocked by that person's audacity, and she started crying in the hospital.
