And how can any interview/chat of Pataudi and Kapoor clan be complete without addressing the elephant in the room, Taimur Ali Khan? This little one is the internet sensation and the favourite of paparazzi. Ever since December 21, 2016, the nation has been wanting to catch a glimpse of the little Pataudi Prince and their wait finally ended on December 22, 2016, when Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan along with their newborn son, Taimur Ali Khan greeted the media outside their house.
And now, the little one has got used to the paparazzi so much so that according to them, that before paps he reaches out to them whenever he goes out. From “hi”, “bye” to “It is Tim!”, Taimur has won everyone’s heart and has bagged more fan-following than his star family. Speaking about his friendship with the paparazzi, Saif said on the show, "He says hello and hey. Taimur loves them and he is innocent. People said to me that it’s dangerous but paparazzi in India has been respectful. There’s a distance, they take a few pictures."
To which, Karan Johar added, "I would want Roohi and Yash to take paparazzi lessons from Taimur." Reminiscing an incident when the three of them were walking out of Soha Ali Khan’s residence, where he had a photograph with the expression, “Oh, no. The paps!” and Kareena was like, “Okay, you know, hope I’m looking…”, Saif revealed their little one’s reaction to the paparazzi.
Saif stated, “And then you go down to this guy. He’s like, “Hey, friends!” Beaming away, He loves them.” Saif went on to reveal how much a single photograph of Taimur cost. Saif added, “Apparently, they get 1500 bucks a photograph for this guy.” Leaving Sara and Karan shocked! Karan reacted, “Oh, really? I thought it was more. Saif replied, “I heard it’s 1500 bucks. This is what my father-in-law informed me.” Karan shared, “More than any superstar, I think Taimur’s rate is higher than everybody.” Further explaining the concept to Sara, Karan elaborated, “There’s a rate, Sara. We all come with a price. And I’m sure, I’m at the lower end of the stuff. But I’m like, Taimur is number 1 in the rate card. There is a rate card and you’re also on it.”
Speaking about how every producer now wants to involve Taimur in film promotions, Saif had shared in a recent interview, “Every producer I am working with has half-jokingly said, ‘Haha can we put him?’ With white in his hair (he sports salt and pepper hair in Baazaar). With Kaalakaandi, they wanted to put rubber bands. In Hunter, they want to put that Naga Sadhu wig on this poor guy.”
Further joking about how he doesn’t mind minting money through Taimur and Kareena does, Saif added, “My wife says, ‘Don’t be so cheap. You can’t sell your son (Taimur)’. I am like, ‘Why not? Let’s sell him’. Seriously yaar, he is anyway there on the internet. I am just using this platform to say if anybody has any good nappy ads or anything... at a very reasonable price...it’s not reasonable, it’s quite expensive actually. And, I won’t give him the money also. I’ll give him some cash for his education, I am already giving it to him.
