On July 9, 2020, Tanishaa Mukerji had shared a beautiful picture with her mom, Tanuja, sister, Kajol and niece, Nysa on her IG handle. The picture had spoken volumes about the love these four ladies share and had gone viral over the internet. Tanishaa had captioned it as "Happy pre covid times! Now, as Tanishaa is all set to start a new journey in her life as she is ready to make her digital debut, her mother and sister showered her with love. Tanuja visited Tanishaa on the sets of her upcoming web show to bless her and the actress shared pictures from the same. Tanishaa captioned it as “Moms blessing for my digital debut is everything! On September 23, 2020, when Tanuja had turned 76, her younger daughter, Tanishaa had shared rare pictures from her 1976 Gujarati film, Malavpati Munj on her IG handle. In the monochrome pictures, Tanuja had looked beautiful in a saree and flower garlands around her neck and wrists. Along with the pictures, Tanishaa had written, “#happybirthdayweek #happybirthdaymommy.”

On August 5, 2020, Kajol had turned a year older, and her sister, Tanishaa had scrolled through her photo gallery to share their best pictures, clicked over the years. In one of the pictures, the two sisters could be seen flaunting denim dungarees and in the other picture, they were posing with their mom, Tanuja. Tanishaa had captioned the pictures as "Happy birthday my gorgeous beautiful soul... my sister! Thank you for teaching me how to love! Love you sooooo much! @Kajol."
In the 59th Filmfare Awards, Tanuja was felicitated with a lifetime achievement award and her daughters, Kajol and Tanishaa had accompanied her. Walking down the red carpet, the veteran actress was asked about Tanishaa’s marriage plans, to which she had replied, “I don’t need to worry about Tanishaa’s marriage as I know, the day she decides to get married, she will come and tell me.” Tanishaa, who was also present at that moment, had added, “Our lifetime has just started so marriage will happen when it has to happen. We are not worried about it at the moment.”
