Tanishaa Mukerji opens up about her feelings of insecurity when it comes to her mom, Tanuja and reveals how she deals with them.
Tanishaa Mukerji is one such starlet in the Hindi film industry, who despite belonging to a true film family of highly successful actors, couldn’t make that much of a mark for herself. For the unversed, Tanishaa rose to prominence with the film, Neal n Nikki in 2005. While the film didn’t score much at the box-office, she subsequently became a part of some other films such as Tango Charlie, Sarkar, Sarkar Raj and others. Moreover, she also took part in reality shows such as Bigg Boss 7 and Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, which gave her prominence in the Tinseltown.
In a recent interaction with ETimes, Tanishaa Mukerji talked about her mother and veteran actress, Tanuja’s well-being. For quite some time now, the senior actress has often made headlines for being hospitalised due to geriatric issues. Talking about them, Tanishaa remarked that she has been extra insecure about her mother, ever since her father and filmmaker, Shomu Mukherjee has passed away. Expressing her feelings, she said:
“Mom is amazing now! But yes, of course it makes me insecure. I was inside the Bigg Boss house when she got this disease called diverticulitis. But now it is over after her operation in 2018. But there have been other issues because of age. In fact, when I was doing an act for my dad on Jhalak…my mom was in the hospital. It was the worst feeling. I have lost my dad and that is the reason why I am more insecure about my mom.”

Speaking along the same lines, Tanishaa Mukerji then opened up about how she deals with such tough situations in her life. She credited her spiritual inclining towards Buddhism, whose chants help her to calm down. On the other hand, she also expressed the kind of upbringing her mother, Tanuja has given to her, when it comes to dealing with tough times. In her words:
“As far as dealing with it is concerned, my spiritual side helps me, especially my Buddhist chants. Plus, my mom has always taught me to live in the moment and not worry about the future. I enjoy every moment with her- partying, even the drama and the fighting.”
In the concluding segment of the interview, Tanishaa was asked if she still had plans of finding a life partner, getting married and building her own family. For the unversed, the diva has already frozen her eggs beforehand, as she wished to become a mother at some point in her life. Elaborating on the same, Tanishaa remarked that her plans of settling down hasn’t changed even now, and added being inspired by her sisters and cousins who are happily married and have their own children. She added:
“Yes, it is important for me to get married! It is a different kind of evolution as a partner as it teaches you a lot of tolerance. I see such a beautiful relationship between my sisters and their husbands, and their children, why would somebody not want that? And I still also want to be a mother and create my family, why else would I freeze my eggs?”
