The list of TV celebrities getting married in 2015 just got a bit longer. After Himanshu Soni, Praneet Bhat, Disha Vakani, and Pooja Joshi; Ankit Mohan, more popularly known as Akash of Zee TV’s serial, Kumkum Bhagya, got hitched to his long-time girlfriend, actress, Ruchi Savarn, on December 2, 2015.

Ankit Mohan, originally from Delhi, first came into the limelight when he took part in Roadies Season 4. After a brief stint in that show, he went on to do many Hindi TV serials like Ghar Aaja Pardesi, Baseraa, Shobha Somnath Ki. He played the role of Ashwathama in Mahabharata (2013 TV series) and is presently seen as Akash in Kumkum Bhagya. He made his film debut as Shahid Kapoor’s best friend in the 2011 film, Mausam.

Ruchi Savarn was born in Nagpur and brought up in Delhi and Mumbai. She kick-started her career as an assisstant director- producer before proceeding to acting. Her serials include Zunj Marathmoli, Ghar Aaja Pardesi, Tere Liye, Mejwani Pariporna Kitchen, Pyar ka Bandhan, and Sakhi. She also had a small role in Ram Gopal Varma's Rakta Charitra.

Ankit and Ruchi met on the sets of their show, Ghar Aaja Pardesi on Sahara One. They hit it off instantly and exhibited great on-screen chemistry. Cupid struck these two instantly, which was also visible in their on-screen chemistry in this show.
A source was quoted as saying:
“Ankit and Ruchi gelled well from the day one of shoot of the Sahara One show. Even after the show ended, their friendship lived and blossomed. And with the passage of time, the inevitable happened and they fell in love.”
When asked about his marriage, Ankit said:
“Yes, it is true that I am getting married to Ruchi. We have known each other for some time now, and I shared screen space with her in Ghar Aaja Pardesi. With time, we realised we are made for each other.
Ruchi also shared:
“Yes, I am excited about my wedding. It is a big day for me and Ankit. I am glad as Ankit and I share a great level of understanding and we are from the same industry.”

They got married in Nagpur on December 2. While Ankit looked royal in a golden and red sherwani, Ruchi looked like a perfect Marathi bride complete with the traditional nath and green bangles.
Ankit shared the news with his fans with a picture of him and Ruchi on his Instagram page with a sweet caption that said, “Finally the wait is over..... @ruchisavarn I love you baby... #iammarriednow”
They will be hosting a grand reception in Delhi for their friends and family on December 6. And for their industry friends in Mumbai, the duo will spread out a grand reception party at a later date after they complete their post-marriage rituals back home.
