Mother's Day trivia, celebrity edition: the children's ward in a renowned Mumbai hospital is named after Shah Rukh Khan's late mother, Lateef Fatima Khan.
Shah Rukh Khan is undoubtedly the reigning king of Bollywood, and none can match his stature in the entertainment world. He is not only a global star but also an equally humble and involved family man. SRK is a doting daddy to his three children, Suhana, Aryan and AbRam and a splendid husband to Gauri Khan. However, not many know that Shah Rukh Khan lost his parents at a very young age.
When SRK was only 16 years old, he lost his father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan to cancer. A decade later, in 1991, his mother, Lateef Fatima Khan passed away. Although Shah Rukh was extremely close to his parents, he could not spend much time with them as they passed away quite early on in his life.

Shah Rukh Khan once visited the Nanavati hospital to visit one of his colleagues' family. Upon his visit, he noticed that the hospital's condition was quite poor due to a lack of funds, and the machinery needed a major update. SRK donated a lump sum amount to the hospital so that they could have the required upgrade.
In honour of this, the Nanavati Hospital authorities named the children's ward after Shah Rukh Khan's mother, Lateef Fatima Khan. SRK was very touched by this honour and spoke about it in several of his interviews. He continues donating to charities that work towards wellness.
