When the famous industrialist GVK Reddy’s granddaughter tied the knot with Siddharth Reddy, the scion of Indu Project Infrastructure, the hot-shots from the big old Bollywood fraternity, corporate India and Indian politics scene were there to bless the couple. If the Royal wedding was hailed as the best wedding of the season globally, then Reddy’s in India were not far behind in impressing their guests and the glitterati with their grandeur. The Reddy weds Reddy wedding is the most talked about Indian wedding of the year.
The Bollywood themed Sangeet saw high voltage performances by Sean Penn, Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Malaika Arora and many others. SRK’s dance skit enthralled the guests to know end, who were truly elated when the King Khan performed on Salman’s trendy number ‘Dhinka Chika’ from Ready at the Reddy wedding.
A day before the Sangeet, veteran Indian actor and classical dancer had rendered a superb Bharatnatyam performance during one of the ceremonies. The celebrity guest list comprised the Bachchan clan, Salman Khan, Malaika Arora, Shahrukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Priyanka Chopra, Sonali-Goldie Behel, Poonam Dhillon, Yash Chopra, Ranbir and Anushka Sharma and other big names. Chanda Kochar, Ambanis, Y.C. Deweshwar, Kiran-Mazumdar Shaw, Shashi Tharoor and Sugandha, Vilasrao Deshmukh, Chandrababu Naidu and many more business and political biggies were present at the wedding.
The celebrities were flown to Hyderabad through a chartered plane between June 10 and June 12 and the best hotels in Hyderabad, Novotel, Falaknuma and the three Taj-GVK properties co-owned by the GVK Reddy group- Taj Krishna, Taj Banjara and Taj Deccan on the tony Banjara Hills road, were booked for their stay.
The décor for wedding festivities spanning three days was supervised by none other than Sandeep Khosla-Abu Jani. The Red and Gold theme for the wedding was in tune with the traditions and the dresses of bride and groom for different ceremonies were designed by Sandeep Khosla, Abu Jani, Tarun Tahilani, Rohit Bal and Shantanu-Nikhil. The wedding was held at the GMR arena, near the airport and close to 6000 guests attended the glittering ceremonies.
