3. Be nice to her family

The traditional Indian set up gives a lot of importance to the boy’s side of the family. Because of this, they are known to be dominating or demanding over the girl’s side. Even though the scenario is changing fast, there is still a subtle overpowering air about the boy’s family. Rise above that! Be courteous to her family. Treat them with respect, and as one of your own.

Seeing how good you are to her family, she will respect you even more, and consider your family as her own too. The transition into the new family will become easier for her this way.

Avoid being sarcastic at any cost! Don’t criticise her about things like the clothes she wears, her way of cleaning, cooking, etc. If you don’t like the way she does a particular thing, talk to her about it in a polite manner and tell her how you feel.

Don’t use harsh words or taunts. Also, never criticise her in front of your son, it will make her feel humiliated. It can also lead to major fights between the two. Help them build their marriage, not break it! Give her all the love you can, and she will be your biggest fan.
