Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani's twins, Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani Piramal are often in the news, for their personal as well as professional lives. Following the footsteps of their father, Akash and Isha have gradually established themselves in the business world. Last year, on the 40-under-40 technology list 2020 of the Fortune magazine, scions of Mukesh and board directors of Jio, Akash and Isha had made their place as the most influential young leaders. While Akash and Isha carved a niche for themselves in the business world, the twins are also training their younger brother, Anant Ambani, who is a more recent addition to Reliance’s board.

Anant is often spotted with his mother, Nita Ambani at the Indian Premier League, cheering for their team, Mumbai Indians. A few years ago, Anant was in the headlines for his drastic weight loss as he had lost 108 kgs with a controlled diet and strict workout routine. Anant became an inspiration with his transformation.

In a throwback 2011 iDiva report, Nita Ambani had shared how she had always wanted to become a mother and would write essays on becoming one, in school. When asked what was the one door she couldn’t pry open despite her riches, connections and power, she had retorted, “Becoming a mother. A few years after I got married, I was told by the doctors that I would never have children. Even when I was in school, I would write long, copious essays titled, ‘When I’ll be a mother…’ Here I was at the age of 23 being told that I would never conceive. I was shattered. However, with the help of Dr Firuza Parikh, who is one of my closest friends, I first conceived my twins!”

Finally, on October 23, 1991, Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani had embraced parenthood with the arrival of their twin children, Isha Ambani and Akash Ambani. Isha and Akash were born to Mukesh and Nita via In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and three years later, their youngest son, Anant Ambani came into their lives and completed their family. When Anant was naturally born to Nita, she had a smooth pregnancy but it was the excessive post-pregnancy weight gain that had taken a toll on her. Speaking of her weight gain from 47 kilos to 90 kilos, Nita had said in an iDiva report, “Everything was double magnified. I was so overjoyed at being a mum that I had let myself go.”
