Triptii Dimri Says Her Parents Heard 'Mean Things' When She Began Acting, 'No One Will Marry..'

Triptii Dimri recently opened up about how her parents had to hear mean comments from people when she decided to pursue a career in acting.

Triptii Dimri is presently one of the most popular leading ladies in Bollywood. She has been admired for her different roles over the years but got her breakthrough through the 2023 film, Animal. The film made her a household name, and she garnered a lot of attention for it. The actress is known for her beauty, ability to portray different roles on-screen flawlessly, and impressive screen presence. Coming from a simple family from Uttarakhand, she made it big with her talent. Triptii has often revealed how her parent's support was a big motivation for her to continue her inspiring journey. However, in a new interview, she revealed how her parents dealt with criticism and mean comments when she decided to become an actor.

Triptii Dimri reveals how people said mean things to her parents when she began acting 

There are several misconceptions and stereotypes about the film industry among the masses. It affected Triptii Dimri and her parents when she decided to pursue a career in acting and studied at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, after her graduation. Recently, Triptii sat down for an interview on Katrina Kaif's brand, Kay Beauty, on latter's YouTube channel. She mentioned how people commented during her conversation and tried to make her back out from pursuing acting. She was quoted as saying: 

"I am from Uttarakhand, but I was born and brought up in Delhi, so my parents and family are in Delhi... it was difficult for me when I moved to Bombay, you know, to go out every day in front of more than 50-60 people in a room. There are people in the society and in my family also who said mean things to my parents."

She added that people told her parents that no one would marry her and that she would get spoiled by wrong company. Moreover, they even questioned her parent's support for her. Further, when she struggled in Mumbai to find work, she often lost hope. The Qala actress added that she knew she couldn't go back, and when she got her first success with the film, Laila Majnu, her parents were thrilled. In her words: 

"Things like 'Why have you sent your daughter to this profession? She is going to get spoiled; she will hang out with the wrong people, she is going to make wrong choices for herself, no one is going to want to marry her, she is not going to get married now. There was a point when I was confused, because, you know, you lose hope when you get up and there is no work. But one thing I knew was that I could not go back to my parents and tell them, 'No, I have not done it.'"

Triptii Dimri shares how she feels over being tagged as the 'national crush of India'

Since her impactful performance in the film, Animal, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Triptii has become highly popular in the industry and on social media. Moreover, fans often call her India's national crush. A few weeks ago, she attended an event in Mumbai where she was asked if the title was a problem for her. In her reply, Triptii mentioned that she is grateful for receiving praise and love for her role in Animal and films before it. The actress added that she always wanted people to talk about her work and feels fortunate because it happened. She said: 

"Initially, when I came into the industry, I always wanted people should talk about my work and nothing else. Luckily, when my films have released, they have spoken about my work. I think these things motivate us actors to do better in life and to keep working on our craft and I think, that way I have been very fortunate."

On the work front, Triptii was last seen in Bad Newz, co-starring Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk. She is busy promoting her upcoming film, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, co-starring Rajkummar Rao. The actress also has Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Dhadak 2 in her kitty.
