Twinkle Khanna shared a picture with Akshay Kumar as their anniversary post and penned that they had a funny conversation, wondering if they would have talked in 2022, had they not been married.
It was the film, Mela in 2000 that had decided the future of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna’s love story. Twinkle was sure that her film, Mela will be a hit at the box office and had put a condition for Akshay that if the film would tank, she would marry him. 21 years later, we are glad that Mela was a flop as it had led to the wedding of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna. They had tied the knot on January 17, 2001, in the presence of 50 people. As they are celebrating their 21st anniversary, Twinkle shared an interesting conversation she had with her hubby.
To celebrate 20 years of togetherness on January 17, 2021, Twinkle Khanna had reposted a picture shared by her hubby, Akshay Kumar, on her IG handle. Penning how they complete each other, she had captioned the post as:
"You are the beauty and the brawn in this partnership and I can’t even say I am the brain because you are smarter than me. We don’t need each other to be complete( that’s just a cliche from soppy ballads) but we want to have the other one around always and that is perhaps the only way it is meant to be. Happy Anniversary Mr K."

Just like that Twinkle Khanna and Akshay Kumar completed 21 years of togetherness and to celebrate the occasion, the actress-turned-author shared a hilarious conversation on her IG handle, which she had with her actor-husband. In the picture, Akshay and Twinkle can be seen having a conversation over the breakfast table. Along with it, Twinkle penned how they were wondering if they would have interacted in the present year, keeping their contrasting personalities in mind. Sharing the savage reply from Akshay, Twinkle captioned her anniversary post as:
“On our 21st anniversary, we have a chat. Me: You know, we are so different that if we met at a party today, I don’t know if I would even talk to you. Him: I would definitely talk to you. Me: Why am I not surprised. So like what? You would ask me out? Him: No, I would say, ‘Bhabhi ji, how is Bhai Sahab, kids fine? Ok Namaste.’ #21yearsoflaughter.”
In a 2013 interview with the Filmfare, Akshay Kumar had talked about how his wife, Twinkle Khanna has added value to his life. Sharing that she has raised him and has given him emotional support whenever needed, Akshay had said:
"Twinkle has not only added to my wardrobe but also to my bank balance. I was a scattered person; she is the one who has put me together. After marriage, she has kind of raised me (laughs). On a serious note, whenever I’ve broken down she’s given me emotional support."

Akshay Kumar had further shared how he and Twinkle Khanna have stopped giving each other surprises anymore. He had added:
“As a ‘normal’ husband I tried to surprise her a couple of times. But she didn’t like being surprised. Now, we’ve decided not to give each other any surprises. It’s like, ‘I’ll give you the budget; you go and get a surprise for yourself!’ Otherwise, what happens is that the man gets a piece of jewellery. A woman’s reaction is, ‘Oh, so sweet!' But actually, she’s thinking, ‘It’s so awful!’ Then, she’ll ask him, ‘Do you have the bill? I’ll get it changed'.”
