During the launch of one of her books, Twinkle Khanna recalled how Aamir Khan almost slapped her because of Akshay Kumar.
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are the power couple of Bollywood and even after 20 years of marital bliss, the duo still radiates couple goals. It was during the shooting of their film, International Khiladi, when Akshay and Twinkle had fallen in love with one another. During the shoot of International Khiladi, Twinkle had developed an interest in this ‘six feet of chocolate ice cream’ as a rebound from her failed relationship. A relationship that had started as a fling had turned into a lifetime of togetherness.
During the launch of one of the books of Twinkle Khanna, Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood, Aamir Khan had talked about his bond with Twinkle. When the host, Karan Johar had asked Aamir about Twinkle’s acting skills, Twinkle answered on his behalf and revealed how he ‘almost slapped’ her because of Akshay Kumar.
Recalling the incident, Twinkle had said, “Once he asked me what are you doing, why are you behaving like this. You are not even focussing on work. I said I am thinking about Akshay. He almost slapped me.”
At the same event, Aamir had revealed that Twinkle had turned him into a videographer during her and Akshay’s wedding. Elaborating the same, Aamir had stated, “Twinkle constantly misuses me. She made me a videographer at her wedding with Akshay. I was ordered to come and start shooting.”

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna had tied the knot on January 17, 2001, in an intimate ceremony. Their wedding was attended by just 50 people, including actor, Aamir Khan, politician- Amar Singh, renowned director- Dharmesh Darshan and few others.
It was Aamir Khan and Twinkle Khanna starrer Mela, which had decided Twinkle and Akshay’s destiny. Mela’s success was a deciding factor for Twinkle whether she would get married to the handsome actor, Akshay Kumar. And as luck would have it, Mela flopped at the box office and changed Akshay and Twinkle’s life forever.
Twinkle bid adieu to acting and begun her passion for writing. Known for her pen name, Mrs Funnybones, Twinkle is one of the most loved writers and columnist. Her debut novel was declared a bestseller, making her the highest-selling woman writer of that year. Akshay and Twinkle are proud parents to adorable kids, Aarav and Nitara.
