Twinkle Khanna recently opened up about having her husband, Akshay Kumar's support when she decided to shift to London.
Twinkle Khanna, also known as Tina Jatin Khanna, is an Indian author and former actress. She is also the daughter of the legendary actors, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. The former actress made her big Bollywood debut with Barsaat in 1995 and, further on, worked in numerous films. Her stint in the acting world was short, but she is now pursuing a career in writing. Apart from being a writer, the multitalented superlady is also a film producer.
Twinkle Khanna recently sat for a chat with FICCI Flo. She admitted that she, indeed, is lucky that Akshay Kumar supported her decision to move to London with their daughter, Nitara. However, the author shared that even if Akshay had not been fine with her decision, she still would've moved.
During the conversation, Twinkle revealed that growing up in an unconventional family where seeking permission was not a part of the household made the concept not exist in her life. Nonetheless, when it came to Akshay supporting her decision to move, she shared that she had the actor's full support. She stated that she would've moved regardless of Akshay's support on the matter, but it would've been very difficult. She was quoted saying:
"But even if he would not have been fine, I would have still done it, but it would have been very difficult and traumatic. There would be a lot of yelling and screaming, but he was okay with it."
For those who are not aware, Twinkle Khanna wanted to pursue a career in chartered accounting after completing grade 12. However, she decided to enter the film fraternity to carry on her late father and superstar, Rajesh Khanna and celebrated actress, Dimple Kapadia's legacy, as they wanted her to be a part of the acting world. As fate would have it, Twinkle did not feel fulfilled as an actress and decided to quit acting.
In 2024, she decided to continue her academic journey at the age of 49 after pursuing a short-term online course during the pandemic. From there on, she began her journey as a student full-time. In January 2024, Twinkle graduated with a master's degree from Goldsmiths, University of London. After her graduation, her husband, Akshay Kumar, penned a heartfelt post for Twinkle. The actor shared a picture with his wife and captioned it:
"Two years ago, when you told me you wanted to take up studies all over again, I wondered if you meant it. But the day I saw you work so hard and perfectly manage a full-fledged student life along with home, career, me and kids, I knew I had married a superwoman. Today, on your graduation, I also wish I had studied a bit more to know enough words to tell you how proud you make me, Tina. Congratulations and all my love."
