Daughter of veteran actors, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna had followed the footsteps of her star parents and had made her debut in the film industry with Barsaat. But after a brief stint in acting, this gorgeous woman had decided that acting was not her cup of tea and had resumed to her passion for writing. Known by her famous pen name, Mrs Funnybones, Twinkle is an author, columnist, interior designer, and film producer. Her debut novel was declared a bestseller, making her the highest-selling woman writer of that year.

It was in 2000, when Twinkle Khanna and Aamir Khan starrer Mela had flopped at the box-office and it had changed both Twinkle’s personal and professional lives. Mela’s success was a deciding factor for Twinkle whether she would get married to the handsome actor, Akshay Kumar. And as destiny would have it, Twinkle and Akshay had gotten married in 2001 in a private ceremony and after finishing a few projects, she had bid adieu to acting. Together, this couple has weaved a beautiful nest with their children, Aarav and Nitara. Twinkle can defeat anyone with her wit and humour, a trait she had gotten from her mother, Dimple Kapadia.

While scrolling through our IG feeds, we stumbled across a throwback childhood picture of Twinkle, looking adorable in her mommy’s arms. In the picture, Dimple looked gorgeous in a halter neck top and open hair, while Twinkle stole our hearts with her cute expression as she was clung to her mom.
On Karan Johar's show, Koffee With Karan season 5, Twinkle Khanna had shared how her mother, Dimple Kapadia had reacted, when Akshay Kumar had asked for her daughter's hand for marriage. Twinkle Khanna had narrated, “So, my mother and me are sitting together on the couch and he’s sitting opposite. My mother’s friend was there and he’s doing acupressure for her back or something. So my mother says, ‘I have to tell you something.’ So, I said tell me. ‘No, no after he goes.’ But when I insisted, she said that one of our friends was doing a piece on a gay newspaper says that Akshay is gay. So, I almost fainted.” Then Dimple Kapadia had kept a condition before Akshay and Twinkle, “You both live together for one year and then we’ll see."

December 29 marks, not just Twinkle Khanna's birthday, but also her late father, Rajesh Khanna. On December 29, 2020, the actress had penned her feelings for her daddy, Rajesh Khana in a blogpost. She had shared how Rajesh Khanna had told his wife, Dimple Kapadia, that 'Twinkle' was the best gift she had ever given him. In the same blogpost, Twinkle had shared her birthday memory and had written, "Our summers were spent in Kashmir and I can’t recall what we did in the winters, but I do remember our birthdays I would sit on the stairs; the December air sometimes cool enough to wear a sweater and watch the trucks filled with flowers entering the gate. They were of course, for him, but all eight, I thought they were for my birthday."
Twinkle had also revealed that she had first tasted the hard drink with her father, Rajesh Khanna. He was the one, who had introduced her to the world of scotch. She had described her experience as "Scotch on the rocks in a glass too heavy for my hand." The gorgeous writer had ended her emotional note and had said that it was only his birthday wish that no one can ever replace.
