The excitement as the baaraat arrives, the ‘who will win’ zest during the jaimala, tears of joy during the pheras and smiles hiding sadness as the bride bids farewell to her family, are some of the moments that are cherished for a lifetime. Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s elder daughter, Esha Deol always had a desire to marry a man as handsome as her father, Dharmendra and her wish got fulfilled when she found the ‘man’ of her dreams in Bharat Takhtani. Childhood sweethearts, Esha and Bharat became each other’s forever on June 29, 2012, and are enjoying their marital life to the fullest with baby daughter, Radhya Takhtani while the second one is on his/her way.

Speaking about his jaan, Esha ahead of her vidaai, the doting father said, “Esha meri jaan hai, meri bahaut pyaari beti hai. Betiyank badi hoti hai to unke liye fikr badhti hai ki achha ladka dhundha jaaye toh humein accha ladka mil gaya. Ab shaadi ho gayi hai ab vidai ho jayegi toh lagta hai ki paal pos ke bada karte hai fir ek din paraye ghar chali jaati hai.”
Esha Deol had shared in an interview about how she told her parents, Hema Malini and Dharmendra about the love of her life, Bharat Takhtani. Reminiscing the incident of how she introduced Bharat to mommy, Hema, she had said, “I called out to her and said, ‘Mama, come up! I’ve something to show you’. Mom came up to my floor, casually playing with the dogs, unaware of what was in store. Then I introduced her to Bharat. Both being Librans, hit it off instantly!”
After introducing Bharat to mommy, Hema, it was daddy Dharmendra’s turn and Esha had let them alone for an hour. Recalling his first meeting with Dharmendra, Bharat had revealed, “Dharamji’s seen life. He listed a few things and asked whether I’d be able to fulfill those. I’ve turned more responsible after that meeting. Hema Malini was over the moon with happiness when daughter, Esha Deol found the ‘man’ of her dreams. Dream Girl had said, “He (Bharat) is a lovely boy and we all like him. It is a very happy moment not only for her (Esha), but for the entire family."
Esha Deol has also proved to be a perfect daughter-in-law and she not only takes care of her husband, Bharat Takhtani but also his family. Bharat was all-praises for his wife in an interview and had stated, “She takes care of my mother, her moods, she’s gelled so well. Actually, Esha’s always been gharelu though she liked to believe she was the boy of the house. She’s caring and responsible. She’s aware of what keeps me happy. I’m a foodie, I live to eat. And she sees to it that my favourite dishes are prepared at home. In fact, for someone who didn’t know how to make chai, just the other day, she cooked Khow Suey.”
Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s little princess, Ahana Deol, tied the knot with Delhi-based businessman, Vaibhav Vohra on February 2, 2014. But even at her wedding, father Dharmendra was more nervous than the bride herself. In a throwback interview, Hema ji shared how she had asked her husband to calm down, “I’ve told Dharamji, tension bilkul nahin lene ka (don't take any tension). He's very nervous and tense. Ahana is his laadli (favourite). I've told him to just relax and leave everything to me and my family...and then of course, there is the events manager, who is following our instructions.”
Speaking of the excitement to welcome another member in their family, Hema Malini had said, “You know, this is exactly why I've never felt any need for friends. My family is my friend. My brothers and their wives take care of everything. Now I've two sons to complete my family. People always reminded me that I've no sons, only two daughters. But I want to tell them that now I've two sons. Both my sons-in-law are as good as my own sons. In any case, my daughters are like my sons as well as daughters.
