Amid her divorce speculations, Urmila Matondkar unfollows her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, on social media.
The sensational actress of the 90s, Urmila Matondkar, is leading the headlines after reports of her separation from her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir, surfaced. The actress has reportedly filed for divorce, but the reports also stated that the divorce is not happening with mutual consent. Neither Urmila nor Mohsin have reacted to the news yet.
Now, amid all the speculations, it seems that the actress has unfollowed her husband, Mohsin, on social media. Urmila only follows 150 accounts, and Mohsin is not one of them. However, he still follows her. While browsing through Urmila’s profile, we also noticed that the last post shared by Urmila with Mohsin was on June 29, 2023, on the occasion of Eid.
On September 24, 2024, a report in the Hindustan Times claimed that Urmila Matondkar had filed for divorce from her husband, Mohsin Akhtar Mir. A source close to the actress informed the publication:
“After careful consideration, Urmila has decided to call it quits on her marriage with Mohsin. She has already filed for divorce in court. While the reason behind the separation is still not known, the divorce isn’t happening on mutual terms.”
Mohsin Akhtar is a Kashmiri model who moved to Mumbai to try his luck in Bollywood. He made his silver screen debut in the film, It's A Man's World in 2009 and then went on to projects like Luck By Chance, Mumbai Mast Kallander, and B.A. Pass. It was at Manish Malhotra's niece, Riddhi Malhotra's wedding in 2014 that Urmila and Mohsin met for the first time. They gradually became friends and fell in love.
Despite an age gap of 10 years, Urmila and Mohsin got married in an intimate wedding on March 3, 2016, at her residence in Mumbai. They first had a Hindu wedding, followed by an intimate nikah ceremony. After her wedding, she released a statement to announce the same to her fans, which can be read as:
“We kept it an exclusive wedding with just family and friends at the celebration. Since our families wanted the wedding to be a low-key affair. We mutually decided to keep it private. We seek your blessings on embarking on this new journey of our lives.”
