Urvashi Dholakia, AKA 'Komolika' has been acting professionally since the age of six

The timeless villain was played by the critically-acclaimed actress, Urvashi Dholakia, who won a series of awards for playing 'Komolika' in Kasautii Zindagii Kay. It was back in 2022 when Urvashi was bestowed with the prestigious Golden Glory Award and Iconic Gold Award for her role, 'Komolika'. For the unversed, Urvashi kick-started her acting journey at the mere age of six when she appeared in a television commercial for LUX soap alongside popular actress, Revathi.

In the following years, Urvashi Dholakia appeared as a child actress in the memorable television show, Shrikant, which used to telecast on Doordarshan. However, it was the famous sitcom, Dekh Bhai Dekh with which Urvashi made her acting debut as an adult actress and never looked back. She appeared in a series of memorable television shows like Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii, Shaktimaan, and Kahiin To Hoga.

Urvashi Dholakia was at the peak of her acting career when she participated in the sixth installment of the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss and eventually won it. The title made her even more popular across the country, and she also appeared as a guest in Bigg Boss 8, Bigg Boss 13, and Bigg Boss 15. Moving forward into Urvashi Dholakia's personal life, she got married at the age of 16, when she was making a lot of buzz in the television industry with her work. Even to this very day, the identity of Urvashi's husband is not known. Over one and a half years of their marriage, they welcomed twin babies in 1995 and named them Kshitij Dholakia and Sagar Dholakia. Years after her divorce from Urvashi Dholakia, the stunning diva fell in love with a renowned model and actor, Anuj Sachdeva. The couple dated each other for three long years, and reports were rife that they were on the verge of getting married. Urvashi Dholakia revealed why she never got married again and became a single mother for life

After the end of her relationship with Anuj Sachdeva, Urvashi Dholakia never fell in love again. Once, in an old interview with a news portal, Urvashi opened up about the chances of getting married once again. In response to the much-asked question, she clearly stated that she never had time to indulge in relationships because she was busy in fulfilling her responsibilities. However, she admitted that being a single mother was 'difficult'. Urvashi said:

"Being a single mom and taking care of my family took up a lot of my time. I had responsibilities and I didn't have the time to think about my personal life. I have never hidden anything, so why would I hide a relationship? My boys and my family are my priority. Being a single mother was difficult. People tell me how I don't look like a mother and how I haven't aged. I am proud of my journey, which has been a long one."

Urvashi Dholakia was unable to pay her sons' school fees

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Urvashi Dholakia recalled the time when she didn't have a mere sum of Rs. 1500 to pay her kids' school fees. The actress admitted that it was a tragic moment for her and even felt that she had failed as a mother. Despite being in such a heartbreaking situation, Urvashi kept her cool and struggled her way out of it. There's no denying the fact that Urvashi is an inspiration for all the single moms out there. She said:

"You feel 'what am I gonna do I don't have Rs 1500 to pay for my child's education.' You feel bad, you feel let down, but today when I look back at that time I feel I have done well for myself. Life gives you a lot of obstacles, but you have got to just move on."
