Urvashi Rautela was nineteen years old when she debuted alongside Sunny Deol, who was 38 years older than her. She recently addressed the massive age gap, opening up about whether it was weird or not.
Urvashi Rautela made her acting debut in 2013 with the film, Singh Saab The Great, and she couldn’t have asked for a better co-star. The Miss Universe India 2015 winner was cast alongside Bollywood veteran, Sunny Deol, who was much senior to her. However, Urvashi remained unfazed by almost 40 years of age gap between them. In fact, she is looking forward to breaking her own record with her latest project starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is in his 60s.
Urvashi Rautela was only 19 years old when she made her debut alongside Sunny Deol, who was 38 years older than her. However, far from being conscious because of the age gap, Urvashi saw it as a massive opportunity.
In a candid interview with iDiva, the actress confessed that she didn’t mind huge age gaps because it meant working with renowned actors with massive fan bases. Speaking about working with Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great, she said:
"It’s the biggest age-gap in the history of Bollywood, correct me if I’m wrong. We had a 38-year age-gap. I was younger than his sons, as well. But if the director thinks there’s no problem, it’s okay."
In the same interview, Urvashi cheekily admitted that dating an older man in real life was out of the question. But in terms of her professional life, she is eagerly looking forward to breaking her own record. Speaking about her upcoming film, Urvashi addressed her massive age gap with veteran actor, Nandamuri Balakrishna and said:
"Yes, there was 38 years of age gap between me and Sunny Deol, but now I’m breaking that record. I’m doing NBK 109, which is a big-budget, massy South film. I’m paired opposite Balakrishna guru, and between us, the age gap is… He’s in his 60s or 70s, and it’s the biggest age-gap in the history of Indian cinema."
Urvashi was asked yet again if she thought the age gap was weird. And her response clearly revealed her thoughts on distinguishing between personal and professional life, as she said the bigger the age gap, the more the film will benefit. After all, the older a star is, the more fans they will have. She confirmed once again that 'cinema-wise' an age gap was great, but she didn't like them in her romantic relationships.
Urvashi, who was launched into Bollywood alongside Sunny Deol, will now have the opportunity to share screen space with his brother, Bobby. And the actress couldn’t hide her excitement about the same. She took to Instagram with a post announcement of the news and wrote in her caption:
"Thrilled to welcome Lord Bobby Deol to our #NBK109 film family. Gratitude to Deol family for launching me in the world of cinema and now can't wait to share screen space with you in #NBK109 post."
