Famous singer, Usha Uthup talked about her first salary and job in a nightclub. She shared that she had signed a professional contract with a hotel as a nightclub singer, and it was her first job. Usha also added that she was the highest-paid singer in the entire club. For those who don't know, Usha is famous for her songs such as Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Chattakkari, Pyaara Dushman and Shaan, Armaan, Disco Dancer, Don 2 and 7 Khoon Maaf, and many more.
Usha Uthup is famous for her melodious solid voice. She always wanted to sing, and her aunt helped her get gigs in the city. In an interview with The Times Of India, Usha talked about her first job, a professional contract with a hotel. She added that she used to get Rs. 750 per month. She also called the experience of singing exciting. Usha was quoted as saying:
"It was by chance. My aunt helped me to get a few gigs and I always liked to sing for everyone. So I signed my professional contract with a hotel. And that was really something fantastic because, at the end of it, I got 750 rupees. Not for one show, but I got this amount for a month. I was standing and singing at the club and it was fantastic and I was the highest-paid singer in those days, I mean as a nightclub singer. So the thrill of earning that money was something else."

Usha further added that she felt super proud after getting her first salary. She also revealed the first things she bought were a saree for her mother and a pair of socks for her father. She shared that she has made sure to gift everyone something and not buy a single thing for herself.
In the same interview, Usha also revealed how she entered Bollywood. The singer shared that it happened because Dev Anand came to Delhi to listen to her songs at a nightclub. It was a particular association with him, and she got super excited to meet him. Usha revealed that after the show, Dev Anand offered her to sing for his film, Hare Rama Hare Krishna.
