Vada Pav Girl Aka Chandrika Says She Can Go Back To Selling 'Vada Pav' Even After Winning 'BB OTT 3'

Chandrika Gera Dixit, who is one of the participants in 'Bigg Boss OTT 3', shared that she can go back to selling 'vada pav' even if she wins the show. She talked about controversies surrounding her.

Bigg Boss OTT 3 has caused a stir ever since it was launched on June 21, 2024. Moreover, even before the show premiered on the streaming platform, its confirmed list of participants also made it to the headlines. One name that shocked the show’s fans was that of Chandrika Gera Dixit, a.k.a. Vada Pav Girl. She was the first confirmed contestant of Bigg Boss OTT 3, and recently, she sat for an interview to speak about the controversies surrounding her.

Chandrika Dixit reacts to the claims that she went against police to be on Bigg Boss

While conversing with India Today, Chandrika was asked about the incident when she stirred controversy by going against the police. Earlier, in April 2024, the Vada Pav Girl was taken away by the police after she arranged a bhandara on the busy roads of Delhi. While the police did not arrest her, they took charge of the situation after locals filed complaints against her. Sharing if she did it on purpose to be a part of Bigg Boss, Chandrika said:

“Aisa kuch nahi hai. People can say what they want to but I never did anything for ‘Bigg Boss’. I am a normal Indian woman, who had to take up a business to help my family survive. As for the controversy, I went against the police for my rights and the safety of my family. I know the truth, and hence, such negativity never affects me.”

Chandrika Dixit says she can go back to selling vada pav even if she wins Bigg Boss

Chandrika further added that she has worked day in and day out in building this life for herself. She mentioned that even if she wins the show, she has the confidence to go back to selling vada pavs in Delhi. In her words:

“I have worked hard for my family and built this for me. I have no shame and have the confidence to go and sell vada pav back at my cart even after winning the show.”

Chandrika Dixit opens up about her hardships

Furthermore, Chandrika was asked in the same interview regarding the claims that it becomes to enter a show like Bigg Boss by becoming a viral sensation. She answered this by saying that people notice her virality at present, but forget the hard work she did for 27 years. Talking more about the hardships she faced in life, Chandrika said:

“People are seeing just the virality that happened now, but I have worked for 27 years. I have faced a lot of hardships in my life too where we never had money for food. We have eaten at langars, and survived ourselves without our parents looking over. I never started my business for going viral. I just wanted to earn for myself and my family. Also, if it's so easy for people to get into ‘Bigg Boss’ via vada pav card, then please go ahead. Everyone should do it.”

Chandrika Dixit shares she thought someone tried to fool her when he received Bigg Boss’ offer

In the same interview, Chandrika revealed that when BB’s offer came her way, she was convinced that someone was trying to fool her. The businesswoman shared that she thought someone was trying to prank her until the very last contract. She also revealed now that she is in the show, her husband and mother-in-law have stepped in her shoes and are taking care of her business.
