Chandrika Gera Dixit is a young woman from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, who faced a huge loss at a young age when both her parents passed away. As the sole child, she found solace in her maternal grandmother’s home. Her loving nani shielded her from even pictures of her mother to protect her from the hurtful memories. Chandrika always had the hunger to become successful in life so she shifted to Delhi to earn a name and make money for herself. She survived the difficulties that came her way in the national capital and got a decent job at Haldiram’s. Soon, she met the love of her life, Yugam Gera, and found her support system in him. The duo went on to tie the knot with each other after dating for a few years. Later, they were blessed with a baby boy, Rudraksh Gera, who became the centre of their universe.
Chandrika’s life took a massive turn when her then-1-year-old son, Rudraksh got sick, and his health deteriorated. The doting parents had to quit their respective jobs to be there for their little one and spent all their savings on their son’s treatment. To keep up with the ever-increasing expenses, Chandrika decided to start her own business with the support of her husband and in-laws. In 2022, she began selling vada pavs at a small stall in Sainik Vihar, Pitampura, in New Delhi. Initially, she had to bear many losses as the local residents were not fond of eating Mumbai’s popular snack. However, within a few months, Chandrika managed to impress the people with the authentic taste of vada pavs.

What started as a small business soon became a sensation in the national capital, with many people becoming fond of the viral vada pavs. Soon, Chandrika became popular, and the news about her tasty vada pavs reached every corner of Delhi. In April 2024, Delhi's 'Vada Pav Girl' made headlines after a video of her being arrested by the police surfaced online. According to multiple reports, Chandrika organised a bhandara on the occasion of her son, Rudraksh's birthday and distributed free vada pavs in Pitampura, Delhi. But she wasn't granted permission to do so. When the busy road got blocked, the residents protested against her and called the police. Soon, the video of her arrest went viral and later, the police revealed that no case was registered against Chandrika.
Finally, in May 2024, Chandrika Gera Dixit opened her own shop in Pitampura, Delhi, and hosted an inauguration event. Many YouTubers, food bloggers, paparazzi, and celebrities attended the event and came to support Chandrika. The diva looked stunning in a copper-hued shimmery dress, and her happiness was clearly visible on her face.
