The most recent Vadodara car crash has left everyone furious. The incident took place on March 14, 2025, in Karelibaug. The shocking incident has raised concern against reckless driving and road safety as the car crash caused a woman to lose her life. Not only this, around four to eight individuals were seriously hurt due to the accused, Rakshit Chaurasia's reckless driving while being under the influence of bhang. Rakshit Chaurasia is 20 years old, while some reports also claim that he is 23. He is from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Reportedly, he belongs to a business family. Rakshit is currently pursuing law from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He currently stays in a PG accommodation in Vadodara. Rakshit's LinkedIn profile shares that he joined the course in 2021, and it's a five-year-long course.
On March 14, 2025, Rakshit Chaurasia and his friends were out and they were returning from Dera Circle after watching Holika Dahan. Well, it was Rakshit who was driving his friend's car. Reportedly, he, under the influence of alcohol, speeded up the car and was driving at 120 km/h. Well, as a result, it lost control after a point and collided with two scooters, and dragged the passengers till the time it stopped. Hemaliben Patel was out to buy holi, and she was the one to die on the spot due to Rakshit's reckless driving. Four persons who were injured were Jaini, Nishaben, an unidentified 10-year-old girl, and an unidentified 40-year-old man.
The eyewitnesses claimed that Rakshit Chaurasia was behaving weirdly after the car crashed, and his friends were blaming him for over-speeding the car. As per the eyewitnesses, after the lady was killed, Rakshit screamed by stating, 'Another round' he also made some weird short sentences such as 'Nikita, Nikita, Nikita my..' and 'Om Namah Shivay...' At first, Rakshit denied being under alcoholic influence, and later, he revealed that he actually consumed bhang.
He also said he didn't speed the car and was driving at 50 km/h, but the car hit a pothole and crashed into another vehicle on the turn, which caused it to hamper his vision after the car lost control. He also expressed his wish to meet the families of the dead and the injured. When asked about 'who's Nikita', whose name he was screaming post the incident, Rakshit said that he was panicked out and the name just came out from his mouth.
