Vahbiz Dorabjee and Vivian Dsena may be separated today but they aren't legally divorced yet. If media reports are to be believed then Vahbiz has demanded Rs 2 crore alimony from Vivian. This hefty amount of money is reportedly holding up their divorce proceedings. Well, this isn't the first case when a celebrity has demanded this fortune as alimony from their estranged partner, right?
When the HT Cafe approached Vahbiz Dorabjee to comment on the divorce proceedings and if alimony is an impediment in the same, the Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant actress simply said, "I don’t want to comment on it as it is too personal."
Vahbiz also commented that she and Vivian do not want to get into mud-slinging. She added, "It has been very difficult. We are dealing with a lot in our lives. We both have accepted that it (the divorce) is happening and we are moving on in life. We don’t want to sling mud at each other, and which is why such rumours seem weird."
She is also upset with media because of the way reports have been framed alleging her for the hurtful divorce. She retorted, "There are many stories floating around that assassinate my character or blame only me for it (the divorce). There is no truth to any of the rumours about me. There are reasons other than money as well. It is hurtful that people would even think so. Marriage and divorce are between two people. Only they know the truth. Things can’t go wrong just because of one person."
And finally, on being asked if she has asked for Rs 2 crore alimony from Vivian Dsena, Vahbiz Dorabjee commented, "A wife can rightfully ask for 20% of her husband’s wealth but I don’t want to comment on what I have asked for or what he wants. I am surprised at these kinds of reactions as if this is the first celebrity couple divorce. Why are people so astonished about alimony?" Vivian Dsena, in 2017, had commented on his and Vahbiz Dorabjee's divorce and had made their separation official by saying to a media portal, "It’s personal, and I would like to keep it personal. We are adults, who are mature and [were] married for more than three years. We are the two best people who can decide what is happening [between us]. The media will speculate and publish reports. But it is we who will decide what the best is [for us]."
Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon actor had further added, "I leave my personal issues at home. I don’t take my work home either. But, at the end of the day, we are all human beings, and it is tough to keep these lives separate all the time. It (personal turmoil) remains with you subconsciously. But that doesn’t mean you let your work get affected."
Vahbiz Dorabjee had earlier shared with an online tabloid that the reason behind their separation was not jealousy out of the success of her partner. She was quoted as saying, "I have known Vivian for six years. I dated him for three years and have been married to him for three years. After we got married, I decided to give time to my husband and marriage rather than spend long hours at work. So, it was a conscious decision to not focus on my career at that time. There was no question of feeling demotivated because I was Vivian's biggest support at that point. The fact that we are not together has nothing to do with his career or mine. When you are married, you don't feel insecure about your husband's success; you will actually be proud of it."
Vivian Dsena was recently reported to be dating actress, Garima Jain. He had told the Hindustan Times, "I am not thinking about love, as I don’t have time for it right now. I am focussing on my work currently. And if there’s love in my destiny, I will find it."
