The new father, Varun Dhawan, expressed in an interview that he's even ready to tackle anyone who tries to harm his daughter, Lara.
Varun Dhawan entered a new phase of his life when he and his wife, Natasha Dalal, welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Lara on June 3, 2024. After becoming a father, the Bhediya actor developed a newfound outlook towards life, and now he is ready to tackle and even kill anyone who dares to harm his daughter.
Varun Dhawan recently appeared for an interview session with The Hollywood Reporter India to promote his latest work, Citadel: Honey Bunny. The actor was quite candid in expressing how fatherhood has altered his perspective towards life. Talking about how parenthood changes people, Varun said:
“I think when any individual, any man becomes a parent, for the mother it is a different experience, I feel she becomes a tigress, that moment only something happens. But, as a man, I’d say, that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel a protection towards your daughter. I am sure you feel for sons also but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her I’d kill them. I am dead serious when I say that. Literally, I’d kill them.”
In the same interview, Varun expressed his understanding of why his father, David Dhawan, used to be protective of him when he was young. Reflecting on his childhood, the actor recalled that his father would often exhibit what he once saw as overbearing behaviour, such as constantly worrying about his safety and expecting him to be home on time. Varun shared:
“I started understanding my father a little better, his insecurities, his hyper behaviour, his anxiety about ‘being home at a time’. He’s calling my mom… He just wanted everyone to be together as a tribe, as a pack. I would never get it, I’d be like, ‘What is his issue?’ I am not a child, why does he want to keep me near him.”
Now that he’s a father himself, Varun has developed a newfound appreciation for his father's worries. He’s starting to get what his own dad was going through when he was younger. He admitted:
“But now that I have had a baby, I so get it.”
Once known as the chocolate boy of B-town, Varun Dhawan is a new man after entering fatherhood. He and his wife, Natasha Dalal welcomed their first child earlier this year. Varun shared a super cute post on Instagram to celebrate Father's Day. It showed his little daughter's tiny hand holding his finger, and it was just too adorable!
On his work front, Varun appeared in a lead role in the much-awaited web series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The Amazon Prime series, which hit the screens on November 7, 2024, is the sequel to Citadel which starred Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Varun hands are full with two upcoming projects, Kelees’s action thriller, Baby John and Shashank Khaitan’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
