In a recent interview, Varun Tej revealed why he got married abroad, and only 100 guests were invited to his and Lavanya Tripathi's wedding!
Varun Tej is one of the most talented actors in Showbiz. The actor was seen in several movies, such as Kanche, Fidaa, Tholi Prema, and Gaddalakonda Ganesh, among many others. Currently, Varun is gearing up for the release of his film, Operation Valentine, alongside Manushi Chhillar. Talking about his personal life, Varun got married to the love of his life, Lavanya Tripathi on November 1, 2023, in Italy. However, in a recent interview, Varun Tej revealed why he opted for his wedding location aboard. He also added how his first Valentine's Day post-wedding went.
In an interview with Zoom, Varun Tej shared that on his wedding day, his cousins enjoyed more than him, but all of them had a blissful time together. While the weddings of the mega family include thousands of guests, at Varun's wedding, there were only 100 people invited. Sharing the reason for the same, Varun mentioned that it took him seven long years to tie the knot, and all he wanted was to make his family have a fun time, which is why he arranged everything abroad. Varun can be quoted as saying:
"My cousins had more fun than me at the wedding, but our family is close-knit and we had a lovely time together. It took me seven years to get married and I wanted my family to have fun. Usually, 4000 to 10,000 people are invited to weddings in my family, but we invited only 100. It was important to me that my family had fun so I took them all abroad.”

Going further in the interview, Varun Tej talked about his first Valentine's day post-wedding. The actor added that neither he nor Lavanya gave each other any gifts on that day, as they used to find it a bit bothering. The actor further revealed that on their Valentine's day, he and his wifey, Lavanya, took time out to jet off to Kashmir for a short vacation. Varun mentioned:
"I didn’t get her any gift, she didn’t gift me anything either. When I was in college, I used to bother doing that, I got a lot of gifts for a lot of people. But now, it’s different. We went to Kashmir for a short vacation instead."
It was on December 15, 2023, when Lavanya Tripathi turned a year older, and for the same her doting hubby, Varun extended warm wishes. He dropped some unseen photos of Lavanya and him from their wedding soiree. In some other photos, we could see Lavanya striking some goofy poses for her hubby. Sharing the photos, Varun penned an adorable note to wish Lavanya on her birthday.
Ahead of tying the knot with Lavanya Tripathi, once an interview with Scribes, Varun mentioned that meeting Lavanya was delightful for him. The actor added that the diva is more like a friend to him, who has been with him through thick and thin. Varun also added that he first initiated the proposal of marriage after six years of dating as he thought that moment to be perfect to settle down.

Varun Tej and Lavanya Tripathi tied the knot in Tuscany, Italy. For the day, the duo turned Manish Malhotra's bride and groom. Lavanya looked regal in a red-hued Kanjeevaram silk saree featuring gold embroidery borders. With bridal jewels, braided hair adorned with hair accessories, and a soft touch of makeup, Lavanya finalised her look. Varun, on the other hand, looked dapper with an ivory-hued sherwani.
