It's doomsday for the Malayalam film industry as it lost one of its gems. Popular South Indian actor, VP Khalid, who was known for his acting mettle and comic timing is no more. He had garnered popularity for his character, Sumesh in the Malayalam sitcom, Marimayam. He had started his career as a theatre artist, and later, he had worked in many big projects.
But, as per reports, the veteran actor left for his heavenly abode today, on June 24, 2022, in the morning after suffering from a cardiac arrest. He is now survived by his children, Shaiju Khalid, Jimshi Khalid, who are notable cinematographers and Khalid Rahman, who is a director by profession.

VP Khalid was shooting for his upcoming film, Tovino Thomas starring an untitled project in Vaikkom. The veteran actor was found unconscious in his hotel room's washroom on June 24, 2022. However, after suffering from cardiac arrest, the VP Khalid passed away.
As soon as the news hit the headlines, many celebrities and his massive fanbase shared their condolences for the actor and his family. Malayalam actor, Addis Antony, who is known for his acting stint in Nayika Nayakan took to his Instagram handle and shared a picture of the late actor, VP Khalid and penned a heartwrenching note that can be read:
"R.I.P Khalid Sir. We had some fun times on set."
