Vidya Balan revealed a sweet anecdote from her marital life with husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, that reflects their strong bond.
Vidya Balan is one of the most phenomenal actresses of her times, and her intense calibre in the craft simply doesn’t require an introduction. Right from her debut with Parineeta, the diva has impressed everyone with her naturally charming personality and versatile acting chops. Apart from her illustrious career front, the South Indian beauty prefers to keep her personal life low-key. For the unversed, Vidya is married to Siddharth Roy Kapur.
In a recent interaction with News18 Showsha, during the promotion of her upcoming film, Do Aur Do Pyaar, Vidya Balan revealed a special anecdote from her marital life. The diva talked about celebrating her first wedding anniversary with hubby, Siddharth Roy Kapur, for which she tested one of her skills that she was never adept with. Vidya mentioned that she was never good at cooking, and it was on her wedding anniversary that she attempted to bake a cake for her better-half. Revealing how her hubby sweetly praised the cake, even though it was barely cooked, Vidya said:
“I don’t cook at all. But on our first anniversary, I had actually baked a cake for him. I was shooting elsewhere, and I went into the kitchen of that hotel and the chef helped me a lot. Once Siddharth had it, he told me, ‘It’s so good!’ It was so sweet of him. And then when I tasted it, I realized it wasn’t good at all! It was so lumpy. I didn’t tell him that the chef helped me make it, but now I guess he’ll know.”

In the following segment of the interview, Vidya Balan opened up about her opinions on the modern dating era, especially with the advent of dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. She remarked not really understanding the concept of swiping right or left on such platforms. Moreover, she claimed to be happy to have found a partner in her life away from such applications. In her words:
“I lot of people even from our generation swipe right and left. But I just got lucky that I found a partner before Tinder and Bumble boomed and I’m very happy about that. Love will always remain love even. It’s what makes the world go round and round. It’s just that people have gotten so spoilt for choice in every area of their lives that they’re wanting to keep their options open even in terms of relationships.”
During her presence at the inaugural session of The Indian Express’ series, Expresso, Vidya Balan recalled the days of her courtship with Siddharth Roy Kapur and divulged how she used to manage to hide it from the limelight. The actress remarked that since the trend of paparazzi wasn’t at the peak in those days, the couple was able to meet one another in their car. Thereafter, they used to head out for long drives and dates, that finally helped them to keep it hidden.

While the diva has strongly protested about such prejudiced notions every time, there was a phase when she wasn’t quite comfortable about her own body type. Revealing how it was her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur, who helped her feel good over it, the actress, in an interaction with Pinkvilla, said:
“The moment you make it about me, it makes me a little uncomfortable. So I had just done it without thinking. That translated to me being sexy. And I hadn't been called sexy until then. Suddenly, there was a new me. I had also met Siddharth at that time. He made me feel great. I started accepting my body because of a combination of factors."
