Recently, the actress made an appearance at the screening of her Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-star, Kartik Aaryan's film, Chandu Champion. However, Vidya Balan stunned with her jaw-dropping physical transformation that has caught the attention of fans and netizens alike.

The fans were surprised by the striking physical transformation, as the actress seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Vidya wore a simple black dress and even engaged in a fun banter with the paps on the red carpet of the event.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Vidya Balan spoke about how many people, including film producers and directors, have asked her to lose weight. The actress revealed that she has been facing health challenges for a long time that led to her increase in weight. She wondered why people had an obsession with the notion that only lean girls are desirable and acceptable. She said:
"Before every film, I would get asked by the producers and directors if I could shed some weight. And I have been going through some health challenges for a long, long time. So it was next to impossible. I find this absolutely ridiculous. Because the part was written with me in mind. So why this insistence? What is this obsession with only thin being desirable and acceptable?"
It's not easy to feel positive about your body when others criticise you about it. Vidya revealed that her mother was often concerned about her weight, which made her stick to diet and fitness routines. In an interaction with Luke, The Dirty Picture actress recalled being a 'chubby girl' that made her spend a lifetime hating her body. She was quoted as saying:
"I have been criticised a lot for my body, and it has not been easy at all. I have spent a lifetime hating my body. It is only now that I have accepted my body. Not to say I do not have bad days and I do not want to be Barbie."

On the work front, Vidya was last seen in her film, Do Aur Do Pyaar alongside Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Next, the actress is shooting for the third franchise of her successful film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, co-starring Kartik Aaryan and Triptii Dimri.
