Vijay Deverakonda recently confirmed that he is in a relationship. Now, an old video from the engagement ceremony of his rumored girlfriend, Rashmika Mandanna, has created waves on social media. For the uninitiated, the Pushpa 2 actress, was earlier engaged to Rakshit Shetty in 2017 before they called it quits. The former couple had exchanged rings, however their love story later took a wrong turn.
The sweet clip began with Rashmika smiling at Rakshit as she held his hand. He then slipped the engagement ring on her finger, and she blushed while putting the ring on Rakshit's finger. The former couple was then seen walking down the aisle, flowers rained as they were showered with blessings. Rashmika could not stop staring at Rakshit, rested her head on Rakshit's shoulder as he showed her the engagement ring. They then showed off their engagement ring and cut the ceremonial cake.

Reportedly, Rashmika got engaged at age 21, and Rakhsit was 34 at that time. The two started dating during the filming of their film, Kirik Party in 2016. It marked the debut of Rashmika Mandanna's film. Their on-and-off chemistry had won the hearts of everyone, and in 2017, Rashmika and Rakshit decided to get engaged. Rashmika had even taken to her social media handle back then and shared a picture of her dad holding Rakshit's hand, and she had written, "Welcome to our small family."
Rashmika was head over heels in love with Rakshit and had also said once in an interview that the actor played an instrumental role in shaping her decision to make her debut in the Telugu movie industry. However, in 2018, there were rumors doing rounds that the relationship between the pair had hit a rocky patch, although they had denied rumors surrounding the same.
The rumors became true when the former couple confirmed that they had broken off their engagement, citing compatibility problems, and conflicting career priority issues. Problems had also arisen between the family of the two. However, a source close to the actress had revealed to India Today that Rashmika made the decision after consulting with her parents, family elders and friends. It was a tough decision to make in overcoming this personal and emotional setback. The source also added that the actress was unhappy with the way things were panning out in her personal life, and had handled the situation with a lot of dignity.
During an interview with the Curly Tales, Vijay admitted to being in a relationship. He said that he knows what it feels like to be loved, and he knows what it is to love. Vijay, in the interview, further added:
"I don't know unconditional love because my love comes with expectations, so clearly my love isn't unconditional. I feel everything is over-romanticised. I don't even know if it's okay to expect unconditional love."
