In a recent interview, Vijaypat Singhania talked about the viral picture in which he was seen posing alongside his son, Gautam Singhania and also denied their 'reconciliation reports' in the media.
Gautam Singhania is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Raymond Group and one of India's richest people. Despite all the wealth and being among the leading names in the Indian textile business, Gautam has been a part of several controversies in recent times. On March 21, 2024, Gautam Singhania took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture with his father, Vijaypat Singhania, in which the father-son duo could be seen posing for the camera.
Along with the picture, Gautam Singhania penned a heart-melting note in the caption that could be read as "Happy to have my father at home today and seek his blessings. Wishing you good health Papa always." Soon, the picture went viral on the internet, and people thought that the father and son had mended their ways. However, days after the picture was posted on social media, Vijaypat Singhania opened up about the same in an interview with India Today.

The former Chairman of the Raymond Group, Vijaypat Singhania revealed that his son, Gautam Singhania's assistant, persuaded him to come to the JK House. Sharing details about the same, the doting father revealed that he was told to be required for just five minutes over a cup of coffee. In his words:
"Gautam Singhana's assistant was repeatedly trying to persuade me to come to the house. When I refused, he (Gautam) came online himself and said he will take only five minutes of my time over a cup of coffee."
Further, in the same interview, Vijaypat Singhania reacted to the media reports, speculating that all is well between him and his son, Gautam Singhania. Vijaypat admitted that his picture with Gautam had an 'interior motive', and the latter wanted to send a strong message to the media. However, Vijaypat confirmed that the feud and differences between him and his son are still the same and that all the reconciling reports are false. He stated:
"I went most reluctantly, not realising that it was for an interior motive of taking my photograph with Gautam Singhania to send a strong message to the media. A few minutes later, I came down and left for the airport. Soon after, I started receiving messages with my photo with Gautam on the Internet, claiming Gautam and I had made up, which was completely false."

During the conversation with India Today, Vijaypat Singhania stated that although he doesn't know what was his son, Gautam Singhania's purpose behind asking him to pose for a photo, but one thing was sure that it wasn't for mending the ways between them. The disappointed father further added that he had entered JK House for the first time in the last 10 years, and now that his son, Gautam's purpose to have a picture with him is completed, he doesn't think he will ever enter inside his house again. Vijaypat Singhania said:
"I don't know what his real motive was, but it was certainly not for coffee not to resolve our differences. The fact is, it is the first time in 10 years that I have ever entered JK House and I don't think I'm going to have to enter it again."
For the uninitiated, Vjaypat Singhania handed over the complete Raymond Group worth Rs. 12,000 crores to his son, Gautam Singhania, back in 2015. The doting father also gave his 37 per cent stake in the company worth Rs. 1000 crores to Gautam as he trusted his son to support him financially in his time of need.
However, once the transfer of Raymond Group was done and dusted, Gautam Singhania denied supporting his father financially. In addition to this, he also backed out from the promise of giving an apartment worth Rs. 600 crores to his father. Vijaypat Singhania is currently living in a rented house in Mumbai.
