In a recent interview, Vikas Sethi's wife, Jhanvi Sethi, talked about her late husband's untimely demise and revealed that he had signed a film with Deepak Tijori eight days before his death.
Vikas Sethi passed away on September 8, 2024, and his sudden demise left the entire film industry shocked. Several Bollywood and television celebrities shared their deepest condolences on social media through their respective official handles. Pictures and clips from his movies, especially Karan Johar's film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, were shared on social media. For the uninitiated, Vikas Sethi portrayed the character of 'Poo's boyfriend, Robbie', in the film.
In many people's opinions, Vikas Sethi gave tough competition to Hrithik Roshan in terms of looks in K3G. Vikas' sudden demise due to cardiac arrest at the age of 48 created a stir on social media. The actor joined the long list of celebrities, who passed away in their 40s and 50s due to cardiac arrest. Weeks after Vikas Sethi's demise, his wife, Jhanvi Sethi, sat down in a heart-to-heart conversation with The Times Of India and talked about her late husband's death.
Surprisingly, Jhanvi Sethi also revealed that the latter had signed a film with Deepak Tijori, eight days before his demise. The doting wife continued sharing the details of this heartbreaking revelation, as she added that Vikas and Deepak were working on Oops! 2. Jhanvi also added that just when her husband, Vikas was feeling inspired after finally getting some good work, he passed away eight days later, leaving them shocked and alone. She said:
"We had been going through financial and emotional difficulties for the past year, and just when things seemed to be improving, he was taken away from us. He had signed Oops 2 with Deepak Tijori just eight days before he passed."
Further, in the same interview, Jhanvi Sethi talked about the financial struggles she and her husband, Vikas Sethi were facing because he wasn't getting any work. The doting wife revealed that every time Vikas tried to approach producers and casting directors, they used to bring his troubled past with substance abuse and alcoholism in their conversation. From making her husband feel sorry about his wrongdoing in the past to not giving him any opportunity, Jhanvi admitted that it was a challenging phase for her husband.
As per Jhanvi Sethi, there came a point in her husband, Vikas Sethi's struggling journey when no one gave him work due to his troubled past. Thus, it became quite frightening for him to get back on track. However, in that phase, it was when Deepak Tijori, who believed in Vikas and signed him for the sequel of Oops! 2. Unfortunately, Vikas passed away eight days after signing the film. She said:
"Vikas hadn't been getting work, and people often reminded him of how his career had changed. Others would cruelly bring up his past struggles with substance abuse and alcoholism. He did battle substance abuse and was an alcoholic years ago, but he overcame those problems. If you keep bringing up a person's worst moments, it takes a toll on their mental health. Vikas was sensitive and introverted. Those hurtful comments broke him."
For the uninitiated, Deepak Tijori is the one who gave Vikas Sethi his big break in Bollywood with the film, Oops!, which was released back in 2003. The film tanked at the box office but gave Vikas the exposure he needed to start his journey in Bollywood. It is true that Vikas couldn't make his mark in the film industry, but in the television industry, he has worked in a series of renowned shows, including Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin To Hoga, Kyun Hota Hai Pyar, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Hamari Betiyoon Ka Vivaah, Uttaran, Geet Hui Sabse Parayee, Darr Sabko Lagta Hai, Sasural Simar Ka, and many more.
