Vinesh Phogat finally talked about what she went through after disqualification from 2024 Paris Olympics. Hinted at the possibility of overruling her retirement announcement.
Indian wrestler, Vinesh Phogat was all over the news when she got disqualified from the 2024 Paris Olympics for being overweight by only 100 grams. She was the first-ever Indian woman to reach the Olympic wrestling final. During her stint in the Olympics 2024, she defeated the World's No. 1 wrestler, Yui Susaki, in the opening round, leaving everyone amazed by her sheer dedication and strength. However, fate had some other plans, and Vinesh Phogat lost her chance to win gold after disqualification. On August 8, 2024, she announced her retirement from wrestling on social media, and now Vinesh has finally reacted to the 2024 Olympics row.
Vinesh Phogat's never-giving attitude has helped her pave her way into the 2024 Olympics, and a mere 100 gm cost her the gold medal. However, the wrestler still has not accepted defeat, which has kept the fire in her alive. Recalling her battle after the fateful August 6, 2024, night, Vinesh shared that she and her team tried their best. However, the time wasn't right, and neither was her fate. In Vinesh's words:
"All I want to say is that we did not give up, our efforts did not stop, and we did not surrender, but the clock stopped, and time wasn't fair. So was my fate."

In her three-page open letter shared on X, Vinesh Phogat also thanked all the people who helped her in the journey. From her coach to the supporting staff to the medic team and more. Vinesh hailed everyone for helping her through her worst and fighting the battle on equal footing, and putting their all in it for the win, but unfortunately, time wasn't in their favour.
After the heartbreaking and unfortunate disqualification from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Vinesh announced her retirement from the sport via an Instagram note post. However, Vinesh shared the possibility of overruling the announcement in her recent X letter. She added that she can see herself playing the sport till 2023 and that the fire in her to fight will always be there. In Vinesh's words:
"Maybe under different circumstances, I could see myself playing till 2032, because the fight in me and wrestling in me will always be there. I can't predict what the future holds for me, and what awaits me in this journey next but I am sure that I will continue to fight always for what I believe in and for the right thing."

In her heart-wrenching note shared on IG, Vinesh Phogat expressed her emotions about her retirement from wrestling and dedicated the note to her mother, a testament to her deep love and respect for her. She penned that wrestling won against her, and now, her dreams and courage are shattered. The wrestler mentioned that she doesn't have any more strength now, so she is bidding goodbye to wrestling. Asking for forgiveness, Vinesh penned:
"Maa, kushti mere se jeet gayi, main haar gayi. Maaf karna, aapka sapna, meri himmat sab toot chuke. Isse zyada taqat nahi rahi ab. Alvida kushti (2001-2024)."
